Hello friends,
Back from my couple of days away and finally I've organised my photos to share with you today.
In fact quite a lot so you may need a coffee/tea!
First Oxford..the sky is actually blue with white fluffy clouds - no rain!
Amazing architecture..
Clever cake..
Tudor wonky building!
Henley on Thames and perfect weather for ducks!
The deserted town square..
I was quite thankful not to be boating in the rain...
Lovely rows of pretty houses..
Arrival at Downton ..(Highclere Castle)
Unfortunately no photos allowed inside the castle!
I did understand but somewhat devastated by that news..how about all my lovely blog followers expecting to see everything! I consoled myself by taking quite a few outside shots..
Firstly the side of the house..
The driveway...
That's quite something to have above your front door!
And the view from the front door...imagine waking up to that each day..heavenly!
Dodging the rain to walk through some of the gardens..
And then we found the tea room..well, it had to be done..a cream tea!
As I walked away, the rain stopped. I looked back and took this shot which I am
happy with..it will be my lasting memory of my lovely visit to Downton...
Take care friends, back tomorrow with Friday Die-Day!

How beautiful Christine thanks for sharing your pics x
Hi Christine, The trip looks amazing. Thanks for sharing your lovely photos.
Morning Christine
I love your photos and Downton Abbey looks fantastic. Its a shame that you cant take photos inside. I went to the Karen Blixen House in Nairobi and you couldnt take them inside there. The film crew of Out of Africa had bought the rights so no photos, wonder if the TV has done the same here.
Oxford is a lovely town I went a few years ago and it rained then lol
Looking forward to Fri die day

Hi Christine
thank you for sharing your lovely photographs with us.
Boating in the rain is SO NOT a good idea, we took our boat out a few weeks ago (to give it a little run my Hubby said) and we (I) got drenched, I almost slipped off the boat at one of the locks, SO no more boating for me UNLESS it is dry weather lol.
hugs

Hi Christine,
Great photos, would love to see Downton Abby as well as some others that are on my list... maybe one day.

I want to go there! Wonderful.
Great photos, love Oxford it rained too when I last went a few years ago. My hubby booked a surprise silver anniversary meal at Le Manoir aux Quat' Saisons, just outside Oxford, Raymond Blanc was there, it has beautiful gardens and sculptures. It was a lovely day despite the rain. You do stir up memories Christine, I just love period dramas, I wish Downtown was still on TV! Take care Alison :)
