Friday Die Day (Early!)

Hello friends

I got back from tellyland yesterday afternoon.
Really enjoyed my Spellbinders shows featuring the
certainly had a giggle!
I was asked if I would be sharing my telly projects here
on my blog and yes, as soon as I get to photograph them all.

Today I do have one up and ready to go and that is Floral Tiara Topper.
A 5 piece die set and the approximate measurements are:
Outer Cut: 5.50 x 2.15 in. 13.90 x 5.50 cm
Pattern: 5.20 x1.90 in. 13.20 x 4.80 cm
Beaded: 5.55 x 2.15 in. 14.10 x 5.50 cm

I'm really addicted to drop shadowing the die cuts so I've cut
two from silver foil card and two from white card.
Affixed the white over the silver.

I then die cut flowers and coloured them with Aged Mahogany Distress Ink.
The flowers are Cinch and Go III.

I chose to make a BIG card, an 8 x 8 card base with silver foil
mats and coloured paper.

Positioned and placed the two die cuts.

Added a piece of scrunched/folded ribbon, held in place with 3D Foam Squares.

Also using 3D Foam Squares attached the flowers and sentiment.

Added pearls to the centre of each flower to finish,
something I had a little trouble with on the telly as my eyes were just not good!
The finished card...quite a few photos!

I'm doing FDD blog post early as I'm going to have some eye surgery
today and not sure what I'll be seeing afterwards, hopefully it
will be a whole new world!

Big thanks for all the support, I'm due back at Hochanda for
some more shows soon and I'll keep you posted.

Take care friends.

Anniversary and Hochanda!

Hello friends

How was your weekend?
I had a wonderful time with my friends at the Craft Box workshop
in St Ives Cambridge. It is a beautiful little town and even the sun was shining.

And here is what I made...
a Spring canvas.
It took all day because it has 85 layers...possibly an exaggeration!

I've learned lots of techniques and I think it would be nice to attempt
this with die cuts as opposed to fussy cutting at some point.

So from mixed media to clean and simple!
Last week I sat down and made some special invitations.
On this day next month my parents will be celebrating their
Diamond Wedding Anniversary.

I've used one of the new Vintage Treasure dies by Becca Feeken -

Inside the card I printed the invitation,
cut with 5 x 7 Matting Basics and affixed.

When you flip the card over there is a pocket for the stamped addressed
envelope for the RSVP.

Really easy to do by interlocking two card bases.
I'm hopefully going to be showing this as a demo on Hochanda
this evening or tomorrow.  My shows are 5pm, 8pm
and tomorrow 9am, 1pm and 5pm.

Infinity Link Border is over on the website with the full

Right, I had better pack my final bits and hit the road!
Take care friends, have a wonderful Monday.

Friday Die Day

Hello friends

This week's Friday Die Day features
this is one of the new Vintage Treasure Collection dies
by Becca Feeken and available from Monday.
Four dies in the set and the approximate measurements are:
Outer Rim: 4.20 x 5.55 in. 10.70 x 14.10 cm
Pattern: 4.15 x 5.50 in. 10.50 x 14.00 cm
Label: 2.65 x 1.75 in. 6.70 x 4.40 cm
Accent: 1.60 x 1.30 in. 4.10 x 3.30 cm

I die cut the pattern die with the label insert twice, white and silver mirror card,
yes it looks gold in this picture, I think it is the reflection of one my lights.

Die cut the label and accent twice from white card.

Extra embellishments, foliage, flower (Cinch and Go IV) and a typed sentiment.
I make additional cuts into the petals to create a more fuller flower.

To start I attached the white patterned die cut over the gold for a shadow
and then threaded a piece of peach ribbon through.

Attached horizontally to a dotty green background and matted onto silver
and white 5 x 7 mats.

The die cut label attached to the middle over the ribbon.
Also affixed the two accents, one each end.

This decorative label die cut is from another set called Cannetille Rectangle,
again available from Monday.

Affixed to the card front.

To finsih the foliage and flower, the foliage is watercolour card coloured with
Bundled Sage and the flower is coloured with Tattered Rose.

Very excited by this latest Vintage Treasures Collection by
Becca Feeken. It is possible to take a look at them all on the website here
and pre-order if you wish.

I'll be featuring this collection on Hochanda on Monday and Tuesday
next week so hopefully you can tune in and see more.

Tomorrow I'm off to St Ives in Cambridgeshire to attend one of
the Craft Box classes, this is where I step out of my comfort
zone and get very messy with mixed media!

Take care friends - have a wonderful weekend, hope you are doing
something nice.

A Floral Thank You

Hello friends

I'm back today with a floral offering.
This is a card I've created for the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L blog,
the full tutorial is here.
I created a thank you card which would also double as a
Mother's Day card (that's fast approaching).

I've used a variety of adhesive products (links below)
and also Lisette Oval and Cinch and Go Flowers IV -
particularly like the leaves in this set.

If you have chance to stop by the Scrapbook Adhesives blog
to leave a comment, as always I'm very grateful.

Thank you for the comments this week regarding my eyes,
I am leaning towards having the fancy multifocal lenses as the
possibility of not having to wear glasses at all sounds heavenly.
I'm going to do a little more research before I make a firm decision.

Today is haircut day so I don't look too shabby for the telly next week!

Take care friends, hope you are all having a good week.

Start of a brand new week!

Hello friends

How was your weekend?
I spent mine locked away in my cabin getting ready for my
Hochanda shows.  I made a dent in what I need to do but I'm back there today.

My shows are going to be next Monday 25th and Tuesday 26th March,
it's the one day special so it will be Monday evening and throughout
the day on the Tuesday.
The dies are Becca Feeken's Vintage Treasures and I'll be sure
to have them in stock.

Here's a YouTube video showcasing some of the designs.

I am totally in love with the new Cinch and Go Flowers V,
can't resist a daisy shape.
Now if I could just tie a 'Becca Bow' I would be happy!

Over the weekend new items were uploaded to the website,
we have the latest designs of Cut and Emboss Folders
and new Glimmer Hot Foil Plates - designs by both
Paul Antonio (gorgeous fancy lettering) and Sharyn Sowell -
such sweet birds!

You can find them all here under our New Arrivals tab.
I am finding this website so much easier to link to -
wish we had got around to it years ago!

Also today there's some boring 'life stuff' happening,
my car failed its MOT so it is in the repair garage - fingers crossed
it doesn't cost the earth to fix and I'm chasing up my eye surgery appointments.
I've had to stop driving at night now as the glare from lights is pretty bad.

Which leads me to a question - any opinions on the new multifocal lenses?
Under the NHS you can have monofocal lenses popped into your eyes
but if I rob a bank I can have multifocal which
apparently means no glasses needed,
too good to be true?

Take care friends, have a super start to the week!

Friday Die Day

Hello friends

Back into the routine with FDD's!
This week I'm featuring Vintage Starburst Valance and Gatefold,
one of the Shadow Box Collection dies by Becca Feeken.

There are three dies in the set and the approximate measurements are:
Release Line: 5.50 x 2.80 in. 14.00 x 7.10 cm
Pattern: 5.45 x 2.75 in. 13.80 x 7.00 cm
Strip: 5.50 x 0.50 in. 14.00 x 1.30 cm

The die design lends itself to many choices, as a gatefold,
combined with a shadow box as above or my interpretation today...

To start, I die cut two of the main 'fan' designs from white cardstock.

Using Classic Circles, (patterned paper - Anna Griffin) a die cut circle.
I then attached one of the 'fan' die cuts over the top diagonally.

And then the second one...

Attached 3D Foam Squares to the reverse.

Affixed this to a square white card base.

Little flowers (Petite Double Bow and Flowers die set)
and leaves inked with distress inks.

I positioned the long leaves across the joining line of the die cuts.

And then added the little flowers - lots of them!

Pearls and tiny sentiment to finish the card.
And now quite a few photos - I was relishing the sun instead of the rain!

Don't forget if you place an order on the website (any amount)
you will be automatically entered into the draw to win all 12
Spellbinders stamps!

Wishing you all a lovely weekend, I'm going to be in my cabin
prepping for Hochanda shows later this month,
I've got some gorgeous new Becca Feeken dies to share with you!

Take care friends.
