Good Friday Die Day

Hello friends

 

Happy Good Friday!

This week's Friday Die Day is Dainty Florals.



This is a three piece Die D-Lite and the approximate measurements are:

 

3 Petals: 1.31 x 1.73 in. 3.40 x 4.40 cm
5 Petals : 1.36 x 2.73 in. 3.50 x 7.00 cm
7 Petals: 0.63 x 1.09 in. 1.60 x 2.80 cm

 

This is how they look cut/embossed.

Look!  Mini eggs that actually made it to the cabin without being eaten!

I placed them in a cellophane bag and quickly sealed them in.

Okay...I admit there was more in the original bag!

 

I've chosen to make a decorated tag/panel for my Easter goody bag.

The label shape is Labels 51 and the oval is Hemstitch Ovals

which looks thankfully very Easter egg shape.

I've used one of the Dainty Floral dies and die cut from green and

gold mirror card.

The tiny flowers are from Swallow and Heart,

I get so much use from these tiny flowers.

 

Placed the gold flower behind the green to act as a fine shadow.

Mounted Hemstitch Oval die cut onto Label shape with Crafty Foam Tape.

Placed the flowers in a pretty row.

 

Added pearls to the flower centres and attached to the bag of

mini eggs, quick count - yes they are all still in there.

 

Easy, decorative and great for gifts or if you are hosting an egg hunt.

Nordic Floral and Sunshine

Hello friends

What a glorious day yesterday, the sun was shining and it was actually warm.
What a difference it makes. 
I honestly believe it lifts the spirits and everyone you encounter seems happier.
Hoping for more of that sun especially as Bella is off to the groomers today
and will have quite a severe haircut! 

In an attempt to keep with that golden sunshine (ok, not the best link!)

my crafty project today is featuring Nordic Floral.

I've only used two of the designs for my card and simply cut them from

gold mirror card.

An ivory card base with gold mirror card mat and patterned paper,

all cut with 6 x 6 Matting Basics.

The paper and frame is from Heart of Home - Jen Hadfield Collection.

I'm getting so much use out of these Folk Art dies.

Yesterday we had a sort out in the stock room and discovered some 

dies that were not even on the website, we've put them in the Spring Sale

so more bargains to be had there, in fact over 100 items!

Floral Gatefold and 'that' hour!

Hello friends

Putting the clocks forward always throws me, I remember...

then I forget! Amazingly the body clocks of pets doesn't waiver at all -

they are still expectant of their breakfast whatever I tell them!

I'm heading to my cabin again today but before I go I thought

I would share Floral Gatefold with you.

This is a one piece die, a really good size - 4.15 x 7.10 in

I've used it trimmed at the edge with the silver mirror card drop shadowed behind.

I've used a little stamp around the curve (sort of held my breath whilst doing that!)

and added the flower for an injection of colour. 

Floral Gatefold is one of the Flower Garden Collection dies by Sharyn Sowell,

the lady that designs everything with paper cutting.

Yesterday I used this die on another project by slicing it in half to create

corners, I'll be sharing that project with you soon.

The office created a card using the die twice which I think is lovely.

Swirly Swirl Heart

Hello friends

 

I've just done two full days at my city job, I know it doesn't sound much

but because of other commitments, snow and more

it is the first time in ages that I've actually done two full days there.

They were surprised to see me too!

 

I'm much happier crafting away in my cabin and I intend to do a lot of

that this weekend.  Talking of craft...

how about a swirly project?

It is actually Swirl Heart, one of the new arrival dies -

On the Wings of Love Collection designed by Joanne Fink.



 

I selected a piece of white smooth card and applied Colour Cloud Inks,

I've been using these as an alternative now and again to Distress Inks and

I really like them.

You'll note that no neatness is necessary, just splodge the colours!

I used my coloured card to die cut the heart and placed a silver mirror card

drop shadow behind, yes still using that mirror card!

I then affixed the heart to a white card mat cut with Scored and Pierced Rectangles.

 

Scored and Pierced Rectangles is one of the new Spellbinders Classics line,

I featured the circles recently. I love the subtlety of these.

 

A further couple of mats - black and silver mirror card all cut with

5 x 7 Matting Basics.

 

The sentiment was typed and die cut with hand cut silver and black card mats.

Friday Die Day

Hello friends

This week's Friday Die Day is Birds Singing Border.

This  one piece die is from the Flower Garden Collection 

designed by Sharyn Sowell.

The approximate measurements are:

6.35 x 2.10 in. 16.10 x 5.30 cm

I'm afraid I had a photographic blip this week in that when I came to upload

the step photos they were not there! 

Some frantic shouts for Elliott but still no joy - technology arghh!! 

So apologies not quite a full Friday Die Day.

I used Birds Singing Border to cut from smooth white card and coloured with 

Distress Inks using scrap paper to mask off the areas.

Mounted some patterned script paper onto a card base and then added

the coloured die cut with 3D Foam Squares.

A typed and die cut sentiment to the base of the card design.

I also used a white gel pen to add a little bit of detail on the birds and flowers.

Rainbow Mandala

Hello friends

Thursday already and I'm back to my city job, it comes around way too quickly.

Today's card is Floral Mandala.

I used some of the Colour Cloud inks on a piece of white card,

applied in stripes and then used this to die cut.

Using the same die with gold mirror card to create that small drop shadow.

Mounted onto black card gives this die a different look and in keeping with the 

Folk Art collection.

And did I mention it is quick to do?

Well it really is but hopefully looks like it has taken ages.

Tiny Shadow Box is a delightful die set, I'm pondering on using it 

with a mini egg project but it seems that whenever I buy them 

they never quite make it to the crafty cabin!
