1000!

Hello friends
Yes today is my 1000th blog post!

Incredible that I've typed so many!

My very first blog post was 12 October 2009 and admittedly I didn't blog
daily back then but within a short time I was sharing my craft projects.
This was the very first craft item I posted - handmade bird houses with mini eggs.
I'm thinking I might revisit this project with a 2014 twist....
My blog has served as my crafting and family diary, so many events and milestones recorded
and even though it takes a great deal of my time I'm grateful I maintain it.
Also...I would never have made so many wonderful friends.

In celebration of 1000 I think it has to be a giveaway!
I would like you to leave an answer on today's post to this question:

If you could receive 1000 of something what would it be?

Just pop your answer down and the best answers (judged by Elliott) will be winners!
Yes winner(s)!
I'm giving away three prizes...

On The Road

Elliott has said no use trying to bribe him by sending McDonalds!
Winners will be announced next week.

Have a lovely Sunday, I'm taking Elliott out for the day - still celebrating!
Take care friends and I'll be back tomorrow for 1001!

I love your blog and I call every day to see how the boys are doing and how the shop is progressing and what you are up to also as you are one of my favourite crafty people who has given me loads of inspirations.
Dare I say a cut above the rest ? ha x
reason being if I could be given 1000 of something ? 1000 dies would be rather nice but an extra 1 will do just fine !
Thanks for the chance to win x

What a great achievement! If I could have 1000 of absolutely anything it would be 1000 hours of free time, to take as I wanted one or two hours here and there, that I could spend crafting or reading or just pampering with absolutely NO interruptions!

Oooh, congratulations Christine - well done. I've loved every one I've read, which is certainly the last 3 years or so. Kept my fingers crossed for a lot of them, cried with and for you and your family too, so I'm glad you are in happier times right now.

Since Bizzell seems to have been taken over, I think I'd like 1000 sheets of their card, before the takeover company starts to change things radically.

Hi Christine, congratulations on your 1000th and great to see those bird houses! I'll said it the other day and I'll say it again, thank you for all the inspiration, both in craft and life. A 1000 wishes? Phew I don't know, time is always the thing we don't have enough of isn't it? Maybe 1000 extra people hours for those who research awful diseases, it's probably not much but everything helps :) Have a great day, Carole Z X

Hi Christine. CONGRATULATIONS :))A 1000 posts is certainly something to celebrate, and to come at such a happy time in your life is wonderful timing. What would I like to receive a 1000 of? On a serious level, a 1000 different total cures for some of the worst illnesses in the world. That would cause so much happiness for countless people, wouldn't it. Or on a personal level, a 1000 hours of one to one tuition from the 3 crafters that I admire the most and who started me crafting. They are You,of course, Sue Wilson and Barbara Grey. Just think how much I would learn, it would be fantastic, and so much fun too : ) Enjoy today, have a great time. Take care.

Being greedy I would like a thousand items of crafting goodies especially all my favourite spellbinder dies and to be able to have workshops with a number of people like yourself who make all us crafter's lives enjoyable in watching the tricks of the trade.

Good morning Christine, very well done on achieving your 1000th blog post. I try and read it everyday, you are so inspiring. I love the bird house idea for Easter Eggs.
I would love to be able to tell 1000 people that they were clear of whatever serious illness they were suffering with. There are so many people and families affected everyday and it's possibly not until it happens to you and your own family, that you realise just how many other people are in the same boat or touched by the same illnesses. 1000 prayers for more breakthroughs.
Hope you are having a lovely weekend celebrating Elliott's fabulous news this week.

Good morning Christine. Congrats on 1000 posts, I wasn't here at the beginning but have followed you the last couple of years and I think that is a lot of words you have typed! Love the bird boxes, great little easter gift.

Now my first thought was also 1000 hugs but as ive been beaten to that one. So im going to go totally selfish and wish for 1000 buttons - something im addicted to and can never have too many of. I don't often make a card with a button or two on it.

Wishing you all a lovely day. Hugs Emma xx

Morning Christine. Congrats on your 1000th Blog post. I have always said that I just don't know how you find the time and energy to do what you do but thank you for sharing with us. As you know, my sister had her cancer op just before Elliott had his. Yesterday, nearly 15 months on, she was told there is no longer any sign of the cancer. Thank God. I would wish for another 1000 people to be given the same news this month, that they were free of illness and their health restored. Meantime is there any chance you could post a 'how to' make that bird box. It would be great to make a few of those and fill with mini eggs for my family for Easter, (only a couple of weeks time I think). I have already bought my Grandson his Easter Bunny but I'm sure some Easter nests would go down very well with the rest of my big boys. Take care. Enjoy your day out today. Hugs. Gemma xx

Hi Christine
Wow, congratulations on your 1000th blog. We all thank our lucky stars that we have you and others in our life to give us such inspiration. Hope that we helped you along the way with our thoughts and hugs during Elliot's long fight. My 1000 wishes would be that they found a cure for 1000 diseases, especially cancer, as this I know from experience is such a struggle, for not only the sufferer but the family as well. Hope you all have a lovely day.

Good morning Christine, firstly CONGRATULATIONS, 1000 Blog posts, oh my goodness that's just amazing!
So two reasons to go and celebrate, go wild!!!
I would like to read a 1000 inspirational stories of people surviving terrible illnesses and life changing situations, coming out the other side with their head held high and a big smile across their faces, as this would help make people understand that even when life seems to have knocked you down and the odds really are stacked against you, that their is Hope and a Chance that you can overcome the most desperate of situations and grab life and make the most of everyday!
Thank you Elliott, your story really has given a huge amount of people that glimmer of hope that you can fight the worst of situations and come out the other side with a lovely big smile on your face!
Huge squidgey hugs

Hi Christine and family, wow a 1000 posts that's wonderful, but that is the mind of a crafter isn't it!!
If I could ask for a 1000 of something it would just have to be dies, but that would be unreasonable and greedy wouldn't it, so, I would love it to be ribbon, different colours and sizes, how lovely would that be. I just love the bird houses & it would be great if we could have a tutorial on them. If I could have 1000 of something, I would like to receive 1000 smiles from everyday people you see walking down the road or see in shops.
