Let's Liven up a Thursday!

Hello friends
Thank you all for your warm welcome to Sally, she deserves every good wish.
Also thank you for your kind wishes for Elliott's appointment yesterday.
We are back at The Royal Marsden in two weeks and again
at the end of the month for a further MRI.
Next week we are at King's College Hospital, London we like to get around!

So how did it get to be Thursday already?
With a blink of an eye I'm back on my commuter coach and heading to my
City job - I always feel a reluctance to leave my little shop/studio but I have
to admit I do enjoy the snooze on the coach!

So, have I mentioned Pom Poms recently??
If you have a spare day..week..month in your life visit Pinterest - it has a whole myriad
of gorgeous projects and items including details how to make these...

I know not all of you have pom pom makers and I cannot bear the thought of
you resorting to cardboard circles(!) so I'm giving away a set of makers,
the extra small size - these are ideal for many projects.
Made by Clover these makers are sturdy and simple to use.

All you have to do is leave a comment on today's blog post and next
week I will ask Sally to pick out a winner.
If you cannot wait to see if you win or fancy making other sizes,
Pom Pom Makers are available here :)

Please stop by tomorrow - it's that particular day featuring a special die!
Take care friends.

Cants believe those hedgehogs were made from pom-poms. How the humble make with two pieces of cardboard has moved on. I. An imagine all sorts of animals and pompon embellishments on childrens knitwear. Fantastic. Have a great day. X

Hi Christine. I hope the hospital visit went well yesterday. Glad that Elliott got his Maccy D : ) I love the hedgehogs and the tiny confetti pom poms are a brilliant idea, they must be fiddly to make though, even with the pom pom maker, it would be worth it though as they are so sweet. I hope you get your snooze and have a good day at work. Take care.

Morning Christine, The pompom makers are fab. I am making a baby blanket for a nephew in Canada & his wife and have made a dozen pompoms to decorate the edge of the blanket. It's like the your scarf in pale lemon and white but instead of the tassles I put on his brother's baby blanket for their little one, which was mint/white, I am using the pompoms. These makers are a must have because they are so easy to use and the pompoms quick to make. My next project, if I get round to it is pompom bathmats! The animals are cute so will check that out too. Hope all went well yesterday for Elliott. Have a lovely day. Gemma xx

The little pom poms look lush. I have looked at them but find trying to gauge the sizes difficult as none of the pictures have anything in them to give you a true idea, i.e. ruler, hand etc. Even todays packaging really could be any size as we do not know the bag size. They do look tiny and would be a nightmare to make using cardboard. But if they are really small I would use them in flowers on cards. The hedgehogs are just great. Might have to pop to the shop and really look at these little wonders. Good luck to you and Elliott for future appointments, hope all goes well. Also looking forward to seeing Sally at the shop. Valerie

Hi Christine, I can remember making pom-poms when at school. Perhaps others will recollect our daily milk ration, a small bottle containing about one third of a pint of milk. It was lovely in the winter months, but during the summer, by break time, the milk had started to warm up and was less appetising. Anyway, the bottle tops consisted of cardboard disks with a small circular tab that you pushed through to accommodate the straw. Once washed the cardboard bottle tops with ready made centre openings became the bases for our pom-poms. Anne x
