Weekend Update

Hello friends
Thank you for asking after Elliott, his appointment on Thursday at
The Royal Marsden went well, he is overcoming his anxiety with all
the different scans and procedures he has to have.
Next Thursday he will have an MRI and the
following week we will visit King's to learn the results.
Here he is enjoying one of his most favourite foods en route to hospital!
Mitchell is also fine - somewhat distracted a lot of the time (he has a girlfriend!)
We received some wonderful news this week, a charity connected to
The Royal Marsden are sending us to Torquay!
Elliott was promised a holiday once he completed his radiotherapy and
in May the three of us will be enjoying the English Riviera.
We are staying in the beautiful Vomero Apartments.
Anybody who has visited Torquay please send along advice and tips please.

One of these two items will not be coming along ....

Sorry Bella - no dogs allowed!
But no fear of her being home alone - my parents will look after their grand-dog perfectly :)
The Grand Calibur will definitely be packed,
I think I will be able to sneak in some craft time.

Today I'm going back right to the beginning and sharing one of the first
Spellbinders projects I ever made...
A little card using Labels Twenty-Two.
The bird is from a retired die set called Cuckoo Clocks but thankfully Spellbinders
know how popular birds are and there are lots of birdy options!

So what is everyone up to today?
I'm in the shop busy creating - who else is crafting?
Take care friends.

Morning Christine, glad to hear hospital went well, Torquay is great, a chance to unwind! Today? I shall be crafting with my grand daughter - Sophie, last week it was patchwork ' Elmer style' elephants from the tops of milk bottles, this week we will be completing her Mother's Day card, then something for spring, next week she's creating a special bracelet for her Mum for Mother's Day. She's 4 and a half and loves crafting. Have a great Saturday (I know I will!) lynn xx

Hi Christine. So glad that Elliott is getting used to the various tests etc. Fingers are firmly crossed for good results! Also good to hear that Mitchell is fine. Young love is special isn't it : ) How great to hear that you are all off to Torquay. Bella will be spoilt by your Mum and Dad, no doubt. Make sure you get up onto Exmoor, doesn't really matter where but I love Hound Tor as it is reasonably easy for me to get up onto the Tor from the car park (my arthritic joints make walking difficult at times)Once you get up on the moors and find a quite spot, which is easy to do, you will not want to come back to the real world! I always feel so much more relaxed, both mentally and physically up there,it is a very special part of our country. I hope you all get a "fix" of it too : ) I love the card, the bird is so sweet. I am helping to run our Scout Group Jumble Sale today and have more decorating at our friends house tomorrow so no free time, (won't get a roast tomorrow as Gemma, our daughter, is having a day out with her boyfriend, celebrating his birthday) Monday and Tuesday are crafting days though....yipee : ) Have a great weekend. Take care.

Morning Christine, So glad the hospital visit went well. I was looking at the placement of Elliott's piccie today and it is alongside your profile piccie, and if you put your hair onto Elliott 'he' would be 'you', he is the image of you, I hadn't realised before !!
How fabulous that you are being treated to a holiday in Torquay, but poor Bella has to stay home, but not alone haha, she will be being spoiled by your Mum and Dad.
I love your little card.
Unfortunately it is a very sad weekend for me, it is the 27th Anniversary of the death of my eldest Son, so I will be visiting the Crematorium, but I am so privileged to have been his Mum for 21 years.
Have a lovely weekend.
Lots of love from Patricia xx

Morning Christine, We are just getting ready to set off to Norfolk to open up our caravan for the season. It's sunny but cold here so hope the weather will be good to us as Norfolk is definitely colder than Essex. So glad to hear Elliott is learning to cope with all his hospital assessments and that you have a holiday in Torquay to look forward to. We had many happy holidays in Devon/Cornwall when the boys were small and I'm sure you will love it. It will give you all a chance to unwind. Poor Bella can't go but she will be made a fuss off at home I'm sure. Take care. Gemma xx

Hi Christine, glad all went ok and Elliott is getting used to his treatments, Torquay sounds lovely - had lots of family holidays there as a kid, but not been in a while. Our weekend started yesterday as we both had a day off due to my birthday last wednesday. Every year lately we've visited Adam Henson's Rare Breeds farm for the lambing, we went yesterday and it as fabulous as usual. Today we are off to the Clifton area of Bristol for a mooch around the shops :) ..love your card! Hugs Carole Z X

Good morning Christine,
I am so pleased that Elliott's hospital visits are becoming a little mired bearable, I hope the news next weeks is encouraging too.
Teenagers in love!.......well I have two of them, living with the fall out of these can be very trying at the best of times, all I can say is..just smile and nod! I have had my head bitten off too many times for giving my opinion! Such fun !
Torquay is beautiful, my in laws live in Brixham, which has a lively harbour, you can travel to the harbour by a ferry, which is fun.
Another thing I recommend is Round Robin tour, you visit, Paignton,Totnes, and Dartmouth, you travel by Steam Train,Water Taxi and Bus, you get to see some lovely scenery and some beautiful birds and wildlife!
It has a Fb page too.
If you go to Brixham look out for 'Sammy' the lovely seal that frequents the harbour, you can also visit the lifeboat station too.
So loads for you to do, I hope you have a lovely time x
I have some birthday cards to make today so I must get started !
Hugs to all, (an extra one for Patricia Howarth) x

Hi Christine. Lots of news on your blog today. Elliott looks well and happy and it's good to hear about Mitchell too. Lovely to see one of your early projects - very pretty and quite simple too. You'll love Torquay it's in a beautiful region with plenty to see and lots to do. Agatha Christie was born and grew up in Torquay. I enjoyed visiting Paignton and the zoo there. Dartmouth is beautiful and historic - I could go on.... Be prepared for some pretty steep hills and bendy roads! I'll be crafting too this weekend - loads of cards to make for the plethora of family birthdays coming up.

Hello. Wow that's fantastic, a holiday in Torquay - so long as the weather's not too bad. Today I am making cards for a craft fair in April. I have made some great little pentagon, fabric covered bowls which look really sweet with an easter egg in. However, my fingers are hurting from the sewing so I think it's back to glueing today. xxMargaretxx

Hi Christine, glad that Elliot's visit to hospital passed ok and Torquay! What a lovely place to visit for a holiday. It is some years since I visited but I love all Devon. My Aunt and Grandmother lived in Dawlish for many years so you can imagine I have many happy memories of the area. My son loved Paignton Zoo and Dartmoor Country Park and there are loads of houses and gardens to visit, so whatever you like to do I am sure you will have a great time. I am crafting today too as I have several birthdays to cover!
Happy crafting Carole N x

So glad the Elliott is enjoying his Macdonalds, though I think it should be AFTER the appt., not the other way round, LOL. Will keep my fingers crossed for a good result in a fortnight.

Pretty card, I could do something similar as I have a bird punch, and lots of tree stamps.

Great news on your holiday, I've only ever been through Torquay. I'm doing last minute preparations because a friend is coming for a few days, to learn how to use my quilting machine.
