A lovely response...and Sherlock!

Hello friends

Thank you for the lovely response to the return of Friday Die Day.
I intend to keep it going, before I had to take a break I had managed to
do nearly 50 Friday Die Days including...

A2 Fancy Postage Edge, Aster Flower Topper, Bauble Blossoms Two, Bird Sanctuary,
Bitty Blossoms, Square Bracket Edge Box, Carnation Creations,
Classic Scallop Hearts, Create A Flake Three, Daily Flower Topper,
Die D-Lites Window, Die D-Lites Wrought Iron, Edgeabilities Classic Scallop,
Exquisite Circles, Fleur de Lis Accents, Floral Burst, Floral Tags,
Foliage, Foliage Two, Gold Corners, Gold Labels Four, Grand Peony Creations,
Grommet Tags, Home Sweet Home, Impressabilities - Flowers,
Ironwork Accents and Motifs, Jewel Flowers and Flourishes.
Labels Twenty Two, Labels and Tags, Layered Poinsettia
Les Papillions, M-Bossabilities - Garden Delight,
M-Bossabilities – Numbers and Letters, Medallions Two,
Mix'd Media Elements, Mix'd Media Playtime, Potpourri,
Romantic Rectangles, Rose Creations, Scallop Circles,
Summer Blossoms & Tags, Vintage Lace Motifs and Wonderful Wings!
Now that's quite a few dies and projects - here's to the next 50 or more!

This month's Cardmaking and Papercraft Magazine features a couple of
projects of mine in the Q and A section.
One of the questions: Can you use die-cut shapes as stencils?
Answer: Most definitely!
I used Botanical Swirls - one of the expandable pattern dies to create a mask/stencil.
I placed it onto a white piece of card and spritzed with a mister.
Wait until it dries before you remove the stencil...I am always impatient at this point!
I then used this as a background to a simple card featuring
Carnation Creations. Some light inking on the petals with Distress Ink.

Now for something completely different... do you watch Sherlock?
If you do and caught the last episode there was a lengthy scene involving
a lift in a rather swanky office block.
Well, that was filmed at the office where I work in London, St Botolphs.
The reception...
and the lift area...
They actually did the filming last August - you can tell because it isn't raining!
The building is incredibly modern and a far cry from my other workplace....
I know which I prefer!
Have a lovely weekend dear friends.
Take care.

Hi Christine. Great news about you continuing with Friday Die Day, so many brilliant projects, and now so many more to come : )I saw your answers in CMPC yesterday, you do have to wait until it is dry before lifting the stencil don't you, I learnt the hard way! I know which building I would choose to work in too, the same one as you : ) Enjoy your weekend. Take care.

Hi Christine.... love the card. I haven't thought to use my die cuts like this... I have so many unused Glamour mists stashed away that I now will unearth and start using them!! Thank you for the reminder. Your office building is indeed 'very swanky' but I adore your other workplace.
Have a lovely day.
Hugs

Morning Christine, beautiful recap on your Friday die days projects. Have to say I didn't like the look of the offices in Sherlock - too modern for me, can't believe you work there, shame they didn't cast you as an extra! lol. I hope you all have a lovely weekend. Emma x

Hi Christine, shame they did not put you in the show, or let you meet the stars!!! Love today's card, will use that technique today, as long as there is no washing up, hoovering, cleaning bathrooms, clothes washing, ironing, food shopping, cooking etc. You get the picture, normal day!! Have a good week-end. Love Valerie

Hello Christine. I have missed some of the previous FDD so it's great to see what you have done. So much inspiration. I did so enjoy the new Sherlock and wish there were more. What a smart place to work, but like you I'd prefer to be in the other place.xxMargaretxx

Hello Christine, Well I for one would never have thought the dies can be used as stencils, I will look at them for the potential as your card is lovely.
Very good photography showing both work places, and i like the idea of working in one and creating in the other as your shop window looks so inviting and friendly. Have a great weekend.

Wow, 50 tags all in one pic makes a beautiful montage. Love the spritzed background idea for the card. I've been entranced by the Sherlock series. Very clever script. Dominic Cumberbatch has the most 'spellbinding' eyes. Your office building is amazing. I wonder how the producers came to choose it as a backdrop for filming? I'd be more creatively inclined to work in your studio though. Have a great weekend.
