Blown away??

Hello friends
Have you battened down the hatches?
In light of the gusts that are hurtling towards us here in the south east I
have taken a few precautions - removed my garden umbrella from the love seat,
grouped my garden pots in a sheltered place and severely told cats and dog
that we are staying indoors all day!
There will be no dog walking today .... do not want Bella looking like
this little pooch!
Oh yes, made sure the boys are safe too!

Perfect excuse to stay indoors and craft or in my case...cook!
I'm having a baking day, firstly the cake for the next add-on kit
(yes that is being announced soon) - it is a tried and tested recipe but
wanted to take photos.  I am also batch cooking for when we are to and fro the
hospital every day, as much as Elliott would like I just cannot do McDonald every day!

If you are crafting today - perhaps a day to start Christmas cards?
Here is one that I made a while back, I used this design when I needed to make
quite a few, I found it easier to pre-die cut all the elements one day and then
assemble them all later, not quite so daunting then.
The card base is lightly inked around the edges with Antique Linen distress ink.
The squares are Graphic 45 paper and the dies are Postage Stamps
but any square design and festive paper would work.
Layered Poinsettia (of course!) - I used up any spare paper I had and spritzed it
with some red glimmer mist. A stamped Labels Twenty-Two and
clear rhinestones and twine finish off the card.
For those of you who have to venture out - keep safe.
I will be back soon.

Good morning Christine. Woke early to find all OK outside in Mid Glamorgan, hope its not the proverbial 'calm before the storm'. Great card today, love the colours and the design. The poinsettia die is a very useful one and looks so effective on this card. Anne x

Morning Christine,
Beautiful card today and what a great way to use us scraps. Still yet to start my Christmas Cards but have been so busy lately. I think my cards are all going to feature the poinsettia. Good luck to Elliott with all his future hospital visits. Hopefully this wind will blow itself out soon.

Morning Christine,
We have survived with no damage so far, wind is still very strong. Good day to stay in to bake and craft, but I have a pile of ironing to tackle before I craft.
Great idea for batch making cards thanks for the idea will adapt to suit the papers and dies I have.
Take care.

Good Morning Christine from the sunny but rather breezy Kent seaside. Garden swing seat has blown over but that's all so far.

Staying in today as well, think its about time I made a start on Christmas cards. But first have to do 4 birthday cards for December birthdays..

Looking forward to the next chapter in the cake saga...

Good luck to Elliott with next round of hospital visits.

Take care, Mary,xx

Hi Christine, All is well in the north Cambs Fens. To be honest though we do look a bit like the dog in your photo, and need tidying after blow.
The card is lovely and i agree splitting the task into same one day ect.
Enjoy the tasting session.

Love this card today...very classic and clean with a modern twist. Looking forward to the next charity kit. Loved the lemon cake in one of the kits (it was the first time that I had baked a cake!). All calm up here in Scotland but then its still a very long Winter to come. I am starting my Christmas cards today! Hope the wind blows through soon with no damage for you, your family and Bella x

Hi Christine. Hope all is intact in your garden and far beyond. From TV report it seems the worst part of the storm has passed but not without leaving a lot of damage. Keep safe and well everyone. Good wishes from Dublin - Phil D. the card is lovely

Morning Christine, I've ventured out twice today, once to go into town and pay some bills and secondly to take Rolo out for a walk....he doesn't understand "bad weather". Have to say not too bad outside now. Love the Xmas card. Janice xx

This is a very sweet Christmas card and a very useful tip for batch-making cards - much like baking really which I haven't done much of lately. I've only made one Christmas card so far I just can't get enthused :(
