Charity Kit Winner

Hello friends

Today announcing the winner number of July's Charity Kit.....
rush to your bags and check please!
It is....
If you have this number please email hope-chances@live.co.uk
with your address details and lots of goodies will be on their way to you!

Because July's kit was festive I think that allows me to share another festive
offering today.... in fact a trio!
These were the card, gift tag and chocolate wrapper featured recently
on Create and Craft.
Each one features Layered Poinsettia, Peace Sentiment and Snowflakes View -
the last two are available to pre-order on the website.
The Peace Sentiment die cut is chopped in half so I could use the scrolly bits!
I know it's a little strange to be looking at Christmas projects when the sun is
shining brilliantly outside!

I hope you are all having a great week and finding time to craft...?

Take care friends.

Tuesday Tip/Technique

Hello friends

It's time for a Tuesday Tip/Technique (that's TTTT!)
Today's idea/reminder is using your dies as stencils but on other surfaces -
how about wood?

I've selected a wooden box and lightly painted it. I then inked and stamped the lid with a script stamp.
I placed the Rose Creations die templates directly onto the surface and stencilled
through with distress inks
It creates a nice subtle pattern and by mixing the distress ink colours it adds tones.
The flower is also Rose Creations, cut from vellum and sprayed with glimmer mist.
This technique works brilliantly on smooth surfaces so MDF is perfect.
After quite a few requests, I've finally got a stock of thin MDF hearts on the website -
all the details are here.

Take care friends - I'm back tomorrow.

Going all flowery!

Hello friends

I do love a flower!
Recently I took stock of the wonderful
Create A Flower dies from Spellbinders and at the moment these
are on special offer on the website here :)
I've had a chance to make up the majority of these flowers and it has proved impossible to
decide on a favourite although I'm swaying towards the Lily
...or maybe the Gerber Daisy,
but the Sunflower, RoseStargazer Lily and Daisy are nice too!

And then the Aster is so pretty...impossible to decide!
Don't forget to take a look on the website as they are on special offer
for a limited time.

And this is the other Lily that features in my life at the moment...
not quite so easy to manage...

Elliott adores her!
Pixel is doing fine - a typical boy cat...eats and sleeps a lot and
is twice the size of Lily!

Take care friends and hope you all have a great start to the week.

A Sunday Giveaway

Hello friends
This project appeared on the Scrapbook Adhesives blog yesterday so
sharing it here today.
It is a matching card and gift box.
Both feature the beautiful Create A Gerber Daisy and the box is created
with Square Bracket Edge Box die template (I admit it...a big favourite of mine!)
I've embossed the lid using Impressabilities, it is a nice touch and so easy to do -
just remember to place your Impressabilities under your die template when
you emboss, you don't want the cutting edge going through it :)
I dug out my Edgeabilites too - I love the Ric Rac design.
I placed photo corners on the patterned paper, another fad I'm having right now!
Giveaway!
We create projects like this at the Spellbinders Intermediate classes in the shop
and I have a complete kit to give away, that's both the card and box.
All the components will be included pre-die cut, so just a case of assembling the projects.
All you have to do is leave a comment and Elliott will pick out the winner next week.

And if you are in the swing of leaving comments, please feel free to
pop over to the Crafty Power blog.... the link is here.
Thank you!
Take care friends and hope you are having a great weekend.

A Crafty Space

Hello friends

Okay so where was Friday Die Day yesterday??
It went on a little summer holiday as it clashed with the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L
and Graphic 45 blog hop.
I am sorry for those of you who stopped by and wondered what was happening -
I did mention it at the bottom of yesterday's post but perhaps not everyone read that far.
I got a flurry of emails and some were quite cross, it appears crafters do not like change.
I promise it will be back in its rightful place next Friday
(otherwise I'm in trouble!)

Back to today...
Who crafts in a place like this....
(imagine that in the voice of Lloyd Grossman!)
The answer is Sandra Riley.

Sandra has sent some great photos of her crafty space, let's have a look...
An organised desk (far more space than my desk right now!)
Everything to hand - look at all those ink pads and great twine holder.
To the right of the desk with handy storage drawers on the window sill.
An exciting photo showing the Grand Calibur and magnetic die storage - brilliant!
Lots of lovely 12 x 12 paper and some ribbon storage going on there too.
Thank you so much Sandra for sending the photos,
it is so great to explore these crafty spaces.

And..it's not too late - if you would like to send photos of yours -
remember it can be your dining table, your garden shed - just wherever you craft.

Take care friends - enjoy your Saturday,
what are you up to?

Blog Hop - Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® and Graphic 45!

Hello friends
Welcome to Day 5!

Today, as a designer for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® I am taking part
in a blog hop with Graphic 45!  It is a chance to be inspired and win prizes!
You all know how much I like Graphic 45 papers and my most recent favourite is
Botanical Tea so I couldn't resist using them on this book project.

I used two pieces of square chipboard and covered each side with the striped and dotted
papers from this collection.
Easy and speedy to adhere with MyStik® Permanent Strips Dispenser - don't forget
you can personalise these dispensers.
I then discovered one of the papers had these little card images, they reminded
me of the cigarette cards you could collect years ago.
I chose to set them out in a geometric pattern for the front cover,
placing Creative Photo Corners - Ivory on each one.

Inking the edges of them looks effective too.
The die cuts added to the book cover are Sprigs, Back to Basics Tags and Blooms Three.
I placed a tiny pearl on each Creative Photo Corner.
The finished book, the tag says 'Just For You' but I'm thinking it should say...
'Just For Me'!
