Hello friends
Friday again - in fact Friday the 13th but let's just gloss over that!
Does anyone else feel like we've overnight
Does anyone else feel like we've overnight
shifted into a different season?
Apparently Summer doesn't finish until 23 September
but it sure feels like Autumn to me.
I now have the daily dilemma - do I put my washing out
or drape it across an indoor airer? I have a tumble dryer
but each time I put it on I see my Smart Meter
(still not sure if that was a good choice to have)
rockets into the red danger zone so I try not to use it too much.
And airers... why do they take up so much room?
My little VT (Victorian Terrace) is rather 'cosy' at the best of
times but housing an airer always makes it trickier.
That said, I do love this time of year, the build up to
Christmas and the excuse to stay indoors even more.
What's your favourite season?
Other news: I did not get as much crochet done this week,
I attempted to start another cable project but it's making my brain hurt!
I switch from this to a plain project to give me sanity.
This week's viewing has been Carnival Row available on
Amazon Prime. It stars Orlando Bloom and Cara Delevingne -
I confess I had never heard of Cara D.... but my Dad reliably informed me
"she's the one with the eyebrows"!
It's a fantasy drama and pretty good if you like that sort of thing.
(Not sure if I will be employed to review on that critique though!)
Crochet to a new box set is definitely high on my agenda recently.
Family news...
Elliott is doing very well in his apprenticeship and despite it
being on a business park he has this regular visitor to his office.
He is also opposite a beautiful lake with geese and ducks and
outside the offices is lots of bird feeders and they are swarmed,
so nice to see.
Thank you again for the lovely enquiries after Mum,
she is finally gaining a little bit of weight so heading in the right
direction. I personally cannot lose weight despite trying to be
good, shame we cannot do a weight transfer plan!
Website news...
Great time to stock up on foils and perhaps treat yourselves
to any plates you fancy.
You may have noticed that I am clearing a lot of stock
and that will be continuing so definite bargains to be had.
Take care friends and I will be back next Friday

Crochet looks lovely and complicated. Your dad's comment made me lol. Lovely picture of the fox. We used to have a fox that would come and sit in the garden and watch my foster children eating their lunch. They used to call it a dog and I would think we don't have a dog. glad your mum is still doing well. Yes, it would be fab to transfer weight to those that need to gain a little. Have a fabulous week with your autumnal walks. I love autumn for the colour and vegetation but do love the warmth of summer as it helps a bit with my illnesses xx Hazel
Great news about your Mum.
Lovely photos of your crochet & the urban fox.

Hello Christine
Nice to read your Blog on a Friday which means another week over, it goes so quickly!
Nice pic of Fox, glad Elliott is still doing well!
This weather is nicer for my breathing, Autumn is beautiful with the lovely colours of the leaves and cosier inside too!
Take care
Love Marg
Hi Christine,
well it has got cooler but the sun is shining so I hope your washing is on the line. Can't beat the freshness you get from washing that has been outside. We have a regular fox visitor at my mums, they have been around for years and stare down the garden as if to say they own the place. All very well but the little parcels they leave smell awful!! It sound quite idyllic though where Elliott works. So pleased your mum is making progress. Time for the casseroles and crumbles to help her appetite along. Have a good weekend, best wishes Jackie xx
It is certainly a lot cooler but sunshine today. We have about 6 foxes in the garden and they cause havoc. One was sitting on the back doorstep the other day looking in. Glad your mum is getting better and Elliott is doing well. Have a good weekend whatever you decide to do.
Hi Christine.
Well there was a little nip in the air this morning,
but it is really warm now,I notice having to put the light om earlier each night.
I still put my washing out as long as the path is dry I know the washing will dry.
Glad to read your mum is doing well, and Elliott is enjoying his job.
It will be lovely to see the autumn colours but, I love the warm weather.
Take care and have fun Kitty.
Hi Christine, I love the warm weather, apart from all the gardening that entails haha. When Autumn started on 1 September I felt the change immediately, I couldn't understand that at all haha. I hate Autumn only because of all the leaves that get blown onto my garden, we are surrounded by other people's trees and the wind always but always blows our way, I get so sick of having to rake and brush them all up. Right I'm off my 'soapbox' now haha.
So glad your Mum and Elliott are doing well.
I have a dryer, but I also have a weather 'app' on my phone which I check with constantly and go by it to make the decision whether to put washing outside on the line or not, and it also gives me an idea when to have my hourly daily walk or not, quite often it is alright but there has been the odd occasion when I have got drenched haha.
I am booked onto a Copic Colouring Workshop tomorrow, I would love to be able to afford the Copics but they are so expensive if you want all the 'blending' colours, ah well, I will enjoy the workshop anyway haha.
Have a lovely weekend.
Lots of love from Patricia xx
Love the chat I love Autumn but I think my favourite season is Spring when things are starting to grow The weather is brighter and getting warmer and the days begin to lengthen
Glad mum is getting better and that Elliott is setting into his job How lovely that his office has these visitors
Love the crochet too I’m making Twiddle muffs at the moment
