Grey and Silver Combo

Hello friends

How are things?
As mentioned I'm doing less blogging at the moment
but I like to stop by now and again.
I'm enjoying my little garden - well most of it,
I've got to wood treat the fence this weekend -
that will possibly be less fun!
I've been buying a few plants and it is really coming along.

In between, in my crafty life I haven't shared this card with you.
It is a variation using Glimmer hot foil plate - Lace Frippery and

I like the grey, silver and white together - very clean looking.

Items used:

I am also in my cabin this weekend prepping for a workshop next month
A busy full day making 5 projects - if you live that way please come along,
be lovely to see you - booking can be made here.

Oh yes, over the next few days Elliott is uploading more pre-loved
items to the website, always worth keeping an eye for a bargain.

Until next time, take care friends.

Friday....!

Hello friends

It's Friday and normally you would be seeing a Friday Die Day,
it's not quite a FDD but it is Friday so I'm partly there!
I'm sharing a card using Antiquities Square,

Teamed with some gold card (not quite mirror!)
ivory and mocha coloured paper.

I've tucked the little accents to top and bottom of the label shape to add
further detail.

The ribbon was a great find in my ribbon box,
my ribbon box is out of control so I'm rather proud I found anything!
(Any tips on keeping ribbon in order please let me know).

If you fancy this die set, you can find it on the website here.

Thank you for all the kind get well wishes for my ankle,
it is definitely on the mend and not so colourful now.

Now...sorry to be absent from my blog, few reasons -
Instagram, crochet and gardening!

I'm not doing so many workshops and demos this year, I'm
enjoying getting my little home back on track.
Things got very neglected when I was travellng up and down
the country and I hadn't realised how much I missed
doing the homely things like baking and even cleaning...
(if you've discovered Mrs Hinch you'll know what I mean).

So forgive me if I do not blog quite so much.
As mentioned, you can find me on Instagram posting
pictures and stories (and even that pooch has her own account!)

Take care friends, have a wonderful long weekend.

Home, projects, ankle and Scrapbook Adhesives!

Hello friends

I'm back from my weekend away in Norfolk at a crafty retreat,
had a wonderful time and made various projects
that were all very different from die cutting.
WOW Embossing with Marion Emberson we produced a canvas...

Tracy Scott a journal page....

Eileen Godwin a card that I haven't finished...stay tuned!

Back home (and nursing a sprained ankle, dodging the cats on the stairs!)
my blog post for Scrapbook Adhesives went live.
I created a gold and ivory card showing how the adhesive sheets
work brilliantly for the drop shadow effect.

The full tutorial is over on their website here.
If you have time to leave a comment over there I would be really grateful.

Topped off with a flower and a scrunched ribbon.

Friday Die Day

Hello friends

For this week's Friday Die Day I'm featuring a silver and white
card using a couple of die sets plus a Glimmer plate.

It is quite a large square card, these larger cards showcase the dies beautifully.
White card mat, silver foil card and patterned paper.

Next some die cuts - Floral Tiara Topper cut from white card
and silver foil card.

White over the silver for a drop shadow.

with silver foil onto white card.
This is such a pretty plate with the option of the label inside or not.
I've applied a strip of patterned paper across.

Die cuts in place as arches top and bottom.

The foiled panel set in place with Crafty Foam Tape.

Decorated with number die cuts and the flower is Cinch and Go V.

Got carried away taking pics!

doens't it make a difference, everyone seems so much happier.
And talking of happy, I'm off to a craft retreat today.
A weekend in Norwich hosted by the Forget Me Not Kraft Kabin,
some familiar faces will be there along with some new people to
meet, three classes and time to craft - it should be a lot of fun.

Take care friends and wishing you a lovely weekend.

Made an impression...

Hello friends

Popping in for a quick blog post to share this little book project.
I've used one of the new Glimmer Hot Foil plates to emboss only.
This is Gilded Leaves, it is a set with both plates and dies.

I spritzed the craft card first with water and then ran it through
an emboss only sandwich.
The impression is really deep.

I then used Antique Linen distress in to age it up a little.

Rounded the corners - haven't done that for ages,
had to dust off my corner rounder!

Gilded Leaves is available on the website here
along with all Glimmer Plates and foil here.

Hope you are having this glorious weather?
Lots of indoor stuff is being abandoned and taking the opportunity
to be in the garden or walking Bella, making the most of
the sunshine in case this is our Summer, the seasons are so
out of sync it could be true!

Take care friends, have a super day.

This weekend I shall be in my tiny garden doing battle
with ivy, holly and a blackberry bush.
A new fence is going up between my neighbour and and it all needs
clearing first.  I've enlisted the help of Mitchell and a hedge trimmer,
I think I'll be the picker-upper!

Take care friends, have a lovely weekend.

Crochet! Slightly obsessed...

Hello friends

Digressing from die cutting today to share with you
my new found obsession - crochet!
Just over a month ago I saw on Instagram that you could
partake in The 100 Day Project.

#The100DayProject is a free art project that takes place online.
Every spring, thousands of people all around the world
commit to 100 days of exploring their creativity.

I thought this was my opportunity to try something new.
I went online, purchased 6 x 50g balls of yarn and a crochet hook.

I then watched hours of YouTube videos especially Bella Coco Crochet.
She is a British lady, I quickly discovered that
UK and US terms in crochet are different - goodness knows why!
I also discovered that I crochet holding both my yarn and hook in the same hand,
again...goodness knows why!

So here is my crochet journey so far...

100 stitches for the foundation chain.

Sticking to the double crochet stitch, the only one I picked up quickly.

Getting eager and measuring it many times.

But also finding it totally relaxing, crochet and a cuppa.

Trying it for size!

She definitely claimed it as hers, from now on to be known as
Bella's Blanket (BB).

The finished BB with a shell border - thankful for those YouTube videos!

I'm now venturing onto something a little more ambitious
(and in between still loving my die cutting).
So nice to dip into other things from time to time,
actually must get back to my quilting!

I'm sharing my 100 Day Project on Instagram daily, if you are on IG,
you can find me here.
I have quite a few Instagram accounts, Bella has her own here
and I also have one for my tiny garden and my adventures into
making it look nice!

Should you wish to recreate this blanket here's all the info:

Yarn - 6 x 50g balls, King Cole Baby DK
Hook - 5.00mm (I love the soft cushioned handle hooks)
Foundation chain - 100 stitches
Pattern - Double Crochet stitch throughout, chain 1 end of each row
Border - Shell stitch - YouTube
Finished size - 32 x 24 inches

Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend.
