Is it too early?

Hello friends

My plans this weekend involve cooking, crafting and Christmas...I'm putting the decs up!
Is it too early?
Are you an early festive decorator or do you wait until the night before Christmas?
I love the decorations and feel that it is nice to enjoy them for as long as possible.
Two trees are planned - one for me and one for the boys, although last year's
had a feline adornment and I suspect with two new kittens this year it could be similar.
There has been some enquiries regarding charity kits - I can confirm a new one will
be arriving in January.  For December I do still have some previous Christmas kits available.
Each kit contains a 100% cotton bag that measures 420mm x 390mm.
It also has some pretty flowers and a logo... :)
Also inside are all the components to make a gift tag:
stamped kraft tag, die cuts and festive wooden tag.
Perfect for a gift or a wine bottle.
A useful magnetic recipe equivalents guide is inside the kit to help out with those
'cup' measurements sometimes featured in recipes.
I've popped in a traditional paper bag with a wonderful sentiment -
just because I thought they were so nice.
And, lastly a recipe for 'Last Minute Christmas Cake'.
I use this recipe every year because... I always leave my cake to the last minute!
All the details are on the website here - there's a limited number available but,
as mentioned, a brand new kit will be arriving in January - it's on the 'to do' list!

Take care friends - enjoy your weekend.

Good morning Christine, no it's not too early for me, my trees are going up this weekend too, I love the trees but do not put up many decorations around the house, just some berry garlands and traditional nick-nacks that I have collected over the years, ok quite a lot really. Enjoy your weekend, it sounds like fun.

Hi Christine. You sound as though you're in for a busy weekend.
I usually put up my tree around 20th as my four cats have it over so many times, it's less times I have to re-dress it. I still get a thrill seeing the twinkling lights etc.
Have a good time.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! We'll have to wait until after hubbys birthday tomorrow to put our decorations up, probably next weekend.

Hi Christine. No, it's not too early as it is December on Monday! We usually put our decs up around the 12th-14th but this year my husband and daughter have both been saying that they want them up earlier, I love it all so I will be happy : )
Do you think I should start making some Christmas cards now? I can safely say that they are not going to be ready to post on Monday 1st December this year!
Have a lovely weekend decotaring your house.
Take care.

Morning Christine,
Sounds like you are going to have a busy weekend. We don't put the decorations up until about a week before Christmas, not the same as you get older.

Hello Christine
I always used to put the tree up for my sons birthday on the 4th Dec, and leave it for my Daughters on the 4th Jan.
So it had to be artificial or there would have been needles everywhere!
As they are Adults now I will leave it a while.... not the same when no one comes home from school and screams with delight!
Love the lights though!
Take care

Hi Christine, I plan to do my tree and decorations tomorrow. I have a real tree though and it was bought on Thursday. I always feel sad on 12th night when everything disappears, the house looks so bare, so the longer decorations are up the better for me. Enjoy Valerie

Good morning Christine
We don't put our tree up until after 14th December. This is a family tradition as it is my sister's birthday and once my mum put it up before her birthday party and it got trashed so trees are never put up before this date now. Even my children know this story and never ask to put the tree up before the 14th. Aren't family traditions funny.
Enjoy your weekend - it sounds like you are going to be very busy!
Take care

Hi Christine ,
The 2nd of Dec was the time our tree went up when the boys were little because we celebrated a Birthday as well .
However i don't do it now as they have all left home and it isn't the same anymore , so enjoy your build up to Christmas while you have them at home Christine.

My i thought that cake looked good the last time i saw it and it looks even better second time around.
Take care

Good morning Christine,
Personally, I think decorating this weekend is a little early, but we all have our own traditions!
For last couple of years we have had a real tree, therefore we'd leave it until about the twelfth of December, plus I have my mums superstition nagging in my head......decorations go up 12 days before and came down 12 days after!
Snap Christine......two kittens we have half ours since April, they set about seven months old and VERY inquisitive, I think that the decorating is going to be somewhat challenging! By the way Christine have you let your kittens outside yet? we haven't as we have some huge cats around here and Bella hadn't been spayed yet so I am told she will be seen as a threat to other female cats, basically I am took scared to let them out unsupervised!
Sue, you would think that as we get together to craft for a whole day every week we would have our Christmas cards done, but like you I haven't started yet, that should be our mission this week!
Anyway, I have to go and start these Christmas cards,
Crafty hugs

Christine, one of my neighbours has had her decorations up for at least two weeks!!! Last year I waited until Christmas Eve but this year I've got the steps in already to go up in the roof, so mine will probably be up by the second weeks of December. I only have a tree as it's only me, my dog and my cat lol. x

I decorate about a week before, if I have the energy. The cake looks yummy, are you going to share the recipe?

MUCH too early for me Christine! I have to have done ALL the present-buying (and got my mid-December birthday out of the way) before I even think of getting out the decs. But whatever floats your boat as they say. Have a good time.

A bit early for me too. Glad the charity kits will be returning in Jan, I loved this kit and had great fun putting it together, beautiful day today. Enjoy the rest of your weekend x

Hi Christine, Gorgeous tree and gorgeous looking cake.
We usually wait until after my Birthday on the 12th Dec to put up our decorations, although I have been outside most of the afternoon clipping off this year's growth on my wisteria, in preparation so that I will be able to put up the outside lights, I love it when they are up outside, it is so welcoming when we drive up to our house.
Enjoy your weekend.
Lots of love from Patricia xx

Hi Christine
It's too early for us! We normally put them up half way through December, but recently it's been much later as the kids coming back from uni like to do it. More like 20th these days lol! I've been making myself Christmassy by doing my cards. Around 45 so far, but once December hits, I have less time to kid myself into thinking I'm being prepared this year! My one resolution is to make all the present tags! Even if I don't decorate them, I can make a bauble-shaped tag. I run a couple through the GC at the end of each session. Best wishes, Anne O
