Friday Die Day

Hello friends

I missed a post yesterday. I forgot to click the schedule button!
Yesterday's post will catch up over the weekend,
about the same time as my brain!

I haven't forgotten today's post - Friday Die Day and this week I'm featuring
It creates an A2 size card (US sizing)
and the die measurements are:

1st Layer: 4.50 x 5.50 in 10.80 x 14.00 cm
2nd Layer: 4.15 x 5.50 in 10.50 x 13.70 cm
This is how it looks cut/embossed.
I've used both dies and white card to create the solid and patterned die cuts.

I then grabbed some scrap pink card and die cut various sections of the insert die
to obtain the fallout pieces.

I then tipped the edges with distress ink.

Let the paper piecing begin!
Instead of reinserting them completely I just put the adhesive to the
centre petal so I could lift up the outer edge.

I didn't complete the whole card, just picked out random flowers I liked.

Mounted onto a silver foil card and grey mats.

I then selected grey ribbon, printed sentiment and created
a flower using Cinch and Go Flowers II.

The finished card, I've mounted it onto a white card base with Crafty Foam Tape
and added the sentiment to the bottom.
Pearls added to the flower centres and tiny sprigs behind the larger flower
to bring in a touch of green.

Oh yes, I also added another strip of ribbon over the grey,
you can never have enough pink!

You may wish to take a look at the full Special Moments Collection,
due in stock end of July, although it is possible it could be earlier.

Take care friends and have a lovely weekend.

Daisy, Daisy...and life is testing!

Hello friends

Sharing with you today a project I created for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L
using their 3D Foam Circles as daisy centres, heat embossed.

The full details are over on the Scrapbook Adhesives blog here.

This technique of using embossing powders on their 3D Foam Circles
works so well, not just the circles either, try it with their squares and shapes.

3D Foam Circles are available on the website here.

Sometimes life likes to test us and yesterday was a prime example of that.
I awoke to find I had a flat tyre on my car, turns out I had driven
over a screw.  Luckily it could be repaired but it took hours.

I came home to discover a smell of gas and thought it was coming from our
lounge fire, called out the people who know about these things and no,
much worse.  The pipes from my gas box outside coming into my home
have corroded and leaking gas, everything had to be turned off!

So when things feel like they are going wrong left, right and centre,
what should you do?
Craft and then craft some more...
it works, blood pressure now back to normal.
And pretty daisies also put a smile on my face.

I'm looking forward to an uneventful day today please,
engineers are visiting this afternoon to hopefully get all my pipes
in working order!

Please stop by tomorrow as it is Giveaway Day.

Take care friends.

It's so Summery!

Hello friends

Did you have a nice weekend?
Very changeable weather here in Kent but got the washing dry eventually.
Celebrated Father's Day with a roast dinner last night, always a favourite.

Talking of favourites, I've used Trefoil Crest again in my latest
YouTube video. I keep discovering dies that team with it so well.
It's a very Summery card.

The tag and filigree die cut is from Swirl Tags.

The little flowers are Rose Buds (on sale right now).

And to see how it all came together here's my latest YouTube video,
published yesterday afternoon on time...no wine beforehand!

Take care friends and wishing you a great start to the week.

My Love...!

Hello friends

Well that didn't take long did it...back to a wine project!
I can't stop creating with these dies and this design
Time for Wine A2 Card Front is an instant card make.

Onto a 5 x 7 ivory card base I firstly used the outer die to die cut
a solid rectangle in black cardstock, affixed to the card front.
I then die cut the design in both silver mirror card and ivory.
Applied distress ink to the ivory - Vintage Photo and then
a touch of red for the wine.

Affixed over the silver die cut to create a tiny drop shadow.
Placed over the black card.
I added grapes and vine leaves, these are from the
Frame Charms die set - adore those tiny vine leaves.

Final touch was the stamped sentiment - I think this
rather eclipsed my relationship with wine!!
Also one stray little vine leaf alongside the sentiment.

Items used today for this very quick card:

How many layers?

Hello friends

I'm stepping away from the wine today..well in crafting that is,
I may enjoy a glass of the real thing this evening!

Instead, for today's project I've gone all layered and purple.
This is Sweetheart Swirl, one of the Romancing the Swirl dies.
It is a 4 piece die set and handy to be able to leave the centre whole
or use the oval to create an aperture.

I started with a 5 x 7 ivory card base and applied a strip of purple/lilac paper vertically.
I then cut a solid Sweetheart Swirl from ivory and then a second solid
and coloured with distress inks to tone with the strip of paper.

Placed these onto the card front and proceeded to cut two of the decorative swirls
from ivory, layered and placed with 3D Foam Squares in the middle.
Stamped sentiment to middle (Creative Expressions) onto the oval die cut.
A total of 5 layers - bit of a record for me.

Finishing touch is my little flowers to centre and card corner.
Lots of pearls added to flowers and around the swirl edge.
And LOOK...not a piece of mirror card in sight!

Sweetheart Swirl is available on the website as pre-loved here
so it's a nice price.

Take care friends, have a great Saturday and please look out for
my next YouTube video tomorrow afternoon - I may be on time this week!
