Gossamer Knot

Hello friends

Lovely response to the free postage and packing on the website,
just to confirm it is permanent!
We appreciate it makes a big difference when ordering a smaller item
or perhaps one of the pre-loved dies.

Today I'm sharing a project using Goassamer Knot.
A four piece die set with a stylish ironwork design.
The outer border dies are very handy on their own and of course
you can use the inset dies on their own to create beautiful windows.

Warning: my project is festive!
I used the smaller rectangles in the set to create two panels.

A typed and die cut sentiment and flowers are from Swallow and Heart.
The little leaves (I use these a lot!) are from Homespun.

Gossamer Knot is available on the website here.
Backed with silver mirror card really highlights that ironwork design.

Now added to the website is Festive Sentiment Sheets.
Two A4 printed sentiment sheets.  One white linen and one ivory linen
cardstock 255gsm. Each sheet has a total of 14 festive sentiments
in a variety of fonts.  A total of 28 sentiments,
perfect for die cutting/trimming to size and adding to your projects.

Day 6 and Elliott's first day at Uni is detailed on my personal blog
here - sticking to crafty stuff on this blog :)

Take care friends, I'm back tomorrow with Hump Day Giveaway...
yes it is back!

BIG NEWS and Snowflake Snippets

Hello friends

Big News here at Hope and Chances, we held a staff meeting
yesterday (two of us!) and decided we would make the website ...

YES! FREE UK delivery FOREVER!
We realised that to offer you the very best shopping value we would cover your
postage and packing costs.
So whether you just need one item or ten just click away!

And now today's crafty offering...

With the weather feeling much cooler these last few days I feel
I can possibly mention the 'C' word,
I succumbed to putting my heating on last night!

Spellbinders have some wonderful Christmas dies this year and
recently I created these two cards for the Spellbinders blog
(full post is here)
They both use a beautiful new festive die set called Snowflake Snippets
there's actually 5 dies in the set so lots of usage from this one.

I used the largest one for this card.

An emboss only design.

And this one just overlaying the die cut onto snowflake paper.

Ideal dies for batch making those Crimbo cards.
Snowflake Snippets is available on the website here.

STOP PRESS!
Sold out of Snowflake Snippets - so popular!
More are on order and will be in stock next week.

Over on my personal blog Day 5 of my trip is documented,
shopping photos today.

Take care friends - wishing you all a fantastic Monday and oh yes...
other news - Elliott starts University today,
I'll no doubt be embarrassing him with photos!

Card Quilting

Hello friends

I've got a busy weekend ahead - demoing and teaching a workshop today
at The Art of Craft in Farnborough and tomorrow is Charity Kit Day
(also a lot of housework - groan!)

Back to something nicer...craft!
This card was featured on the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L blog
when I was away.
It uses the die - Tumbling Blocks, one of the Quilt dies designed by Lene Lok.

For a full tutorial please visit the Scrapbook Adhesives blog here.

Tumbling Blocks is available on the website here.
I'm finding these dies very therapeutic to work with, it is nice that
the die comes as a complete piece, not individual shaped dies -
this really speeds things up!
Lene Lok has designed more of this type of die - more available here.

Over on my personal blog is Day 3 holiday documented but if you wish to just see
craft please stick with the Hope and Chances' blog :)

Take care friends and please stop by tomorrow - Charity Kit Day.

Friday Die Day

Hello friends

This week's Friday Die Day is Mini Card/Booklet Gift Box,
a die designed by Becca Feeken - Amazing Paper Grace.

There are two pieces in the die set and the approximate measurements are:
Side Box Pieces: 3.5 x 3.00 in. 8.9 x 7.6cm
Box Panel: 5.40 x 6.20 in. 13.7 x 15.7cm

This is how each die looks cut/embossed.

To create the box you need to cut two of each.
Fold along the score lines.

The smaller pieces are the box sides and the larger pieces make up the
box base and lid.  It is really easy and all makes sense when the pieces are in front of you!

The box glued together.

To decorate I used Gossamer Knot die with silver mirror card behind
I enjoy making these with the little stamens to the middle.

The finished box.  It is a generous size ideal for larger gifts.
It has a good depth for plenty of chocolates!

Mini Card/Booklet Gift Box is coming into stock within about a week and
available to pre-order on the website here.
Gossamer Knot is available here.

Other news:  I will be at The Art of Craft in Hampshire on Saturday,
teaching a workshop in the morning and demoing in the afternoon.
If you live that way it would be lovely to see you.

Wishing you all a great weekend.

Friday Die Day

Hello friends

An abbreviated Friday Die Day this week!
It all got a little manic before I went away so I didn't quite have chance
to do all the step photos but hoping you will forgive me.

Today I want to share with you Half Hex.
This is one of the Quilt It dies designed by Lene Lok
and available to pre-order on the website here.

Half Hex comes as a one piece die but has multiple matching fall out pieces.
This means you can speedily create brilliant geometrical designs.
I chose to cut purple, lilac and white and arrange vertically onto a
white 5 x 7 Matting Basics die cut - these are back in stock here :)

The flowers are from Swallow and Heart die set.

Typed and die cut sentiment.

Half Hex will be in stock later this month and available to pre-order
on the website here.

Take care friends - I'm back in Blighty next Tuesday!
