Bag It!

Hello friends

Oh I do like a bag!
I've just taken delivery in the shop of these useful natural hessian/jute gift bags -
they measure 220mm x 190mm x 120mm
(that's roughly 8 inches x 7 inches and 4 inches in depth!)

They are perfect for gifts and for decorating!

I speedily and simply adorned this one with felt Foliage and a fabric Grand Peony Creations.
Remember by adding the Junior Metal Shim you can cut through fabrics easily.
How about red Layered Poinsettias at Christmas....??
The bags can be found on the website here.

I mentioned yesterday that we celebrated my mum's birthday,
I took some photos of the Grandchildren, Mitchell, Rachel, James and Elliott -
very proud of all four of these.
Delighted that Elliott is growing taller thanks to his daily injections.
You can certainly see the difference, just a couple of years ago...

Today I'm working on Friday Die Day before I head off for my City job for
a couple of days - I keep saying it..but where are the weeks going?

Thanks for the ironing tips - I've decided ironing is a little risky right now
with the kittens into everything...any excuse!

Take care friends.

Tuesday Tip/Technique

Hello friends

Back in the swing of it today, Mondays is supposed to be my day off -
it never quite happens - I nearly always call into the shop!
But I did get to see a friend yesterday and we also celebrated
my mum's birthday last night with a nice meal.

Today's tip/technique is about stamping and heat embossing onto
your die cuts.  I've used Labels Four here, stamped with a script stamp and sprinkled
with WOW! embossing powder.
Heat seat with a heat tool

I used exactly the same technique here with Foliage

Again possibly a technique you already use so a reminder.

I've had a few emails regarding the Newsletter.
Please note, after you've completed the form on the website you will be sent
an email asking you to confirm that you would like to subscribe -
make sure you reply otherwise you are not on the Newsletter list.
I receive regular updates of those who subscribe and those who....
unsubscribe(!!) I do a little sob then!

Hope you are all having a good start to the week,
we are promised high temperatures -
fantastic for drying the washing but no fun doing the ironing!

Take care friends.

A Crafty Space

Hello friends

Hope you all had a good weekend.

Today I am featuring Janice Rohde's crafty space and this is what Janice has to say:

Here are some photos of my craft room which is the smallest bedroom of the three bedrooms!
We're hoping to move later this year and I'm keeping my fingers crossed I will be
able to have a bigger room in which to spread out in!
Janice - what an organised desk!
And is that a swivel tray that comes out at the side?  Looks very nifty.
I'm going to pretend that 'green machine' is a pink one ;)
I am very impressed with that lovely bag hanging on the drawer handle
in your first photo!!

The bags are still available here on the website here and all proceeds to charity.

As always, if you would like your craft room featured please send along your
photos and a little bit of info to hope-chances@live.co.uk

Back tomorrow - take care friends.

Dad's Been Busy!

Hello friends
Do you reckon Summer has been and gone??
Outbreak of sun yesterday then more rain.
On Friday night it turned so cold I was nearly tempted to pop the central heating back on!

Thankfully the weather does not deter my Dad from his woodworking.
He has been busy making new pokey tools with matching holders.
These are lovely and look wonderful on a craft desk.
Also saves your pokey tool rolling away and having to search for it...
or is that just me?
I like all the little ripples/notches - I'm sure there is a woodwork term for those!
There is a collection in light wood and just a few in darker wood,
they are available on the website here.
Also back in stock is Build a Tag One and Build a Tag Two.

Bird On A Wire also restocked -
this has been my most popular and fastest selling die to date!
For those of you who subscribe to the Newsletter, please check your inbox
as July's edition went out on Friday - an offer is included too.

Finally this month's Charity Kit...I haven't forgotten, it is nearly finalised -
been a busy month so far.
There is still some tag ones left from last month in case you missed it.
I'm in the shop today, although it is closed I'm locking myself away in the craft
room and creating!

Take care friends - keep those brollies up!

Freckled Fawn

Hello friends
This week a blog hop is taking place with Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L
and Freckled Fawn (isn't that a lovely name!)
I created a card using their products and here it is....
I really enjoyed working with the little wooden frame, wooden embellishments
and washi tape.
Spellbinders® Blooms Four makes an appearance too.

Freckled Fawn is an embellishment company based in the US, I spoke with them this week
and asked if they would be prepared for my little shop to stock their products?
They said ...yes!

So, they are on their way - everything is so bright, pretty and lovely!
I will let you know when the items are up on the website so you can 'fawn' over them...
see what I did there!

Please check out the blog hop - all the details are here.

Hope you are enjoying your weekend and possibly making time to craft?

Take care friends.

Friday Die Day

Hello friends
This week Friday Die Day has gone flowery!
This is Rosette Blooms - one of the new Spellbinders® Celebra'tions dies.

There are two die templates with this set and this is how they look cut/embossed.
They measure:
Rosette Bloom 1 – 1½”
Rosette Bloom 2 – 2”

You will see that it inserts a cut line.
To create a double layer flower you need to cut two of each size.
Concertina/fan fold each one.
This is one folded.
And this is two!
You then adhere the edges together and you have a flower.
I cut the smaller layer from patterned paper, layered one on top of the other and inserted a brad.
I chose to create a tag - no surprises there.  These are the Ranger Kraft Tags.
I embossed the background with M-Bossabilities.
The leaves are Foliage.
And a wrap of pastel twine is also a nice finishing touch.
Rosette Blooms is available on the website here.

STOP PRESS: Rosette Blooms have just sold out but more on order and will be arriving next week.

Have a great weekend, hoping the sun may visit and drive away the rain!
Take care friends.
