The Nightmare Card!

Hello friends

Today's card became known as 'Mitchell's nightmare card' -
the reason being it was very difficult to photograph.
He really dreads me using mirror card but I love it!
After many attempts he finally got it, it barely shows his reflection.

Along with all that mirror card I've used the hot foil plate
Cartouche, die cut to a circle to place in the middle of
this stunning die by Becca - Graceful Doily.

The addition of mini poinsettias and leaves along with the tartan
strip of patterned paper gives it a festive feel.

It's all been quite hectic since I got back from my travels with Becca,
not least of all trying to stop a roof leak,
someone is coming to look at it today, we are praying rain holds off!

Take care friends, please stop by tomorrow for Giveaway Wednesday.

Hello friends

Not quite Friday Die Day, I'm postponing this week as I'm away
but I'm delighted to share with you the next Hope and Charm-ing Collection.
This is Sun, Sea and Sand, a collection of all things nautical and seaside-ish.
I've selected boats, anchors, lighthouse, palm tree, fishes, pirates flag and more!

antique silver and bronze.
All items individually sourced for quality and colour.
This collections comes in a themed linen bag decorated with cute wales!
These charms are perfect for jewellery makers and paper crafters.

Also available on the website is the Charm-ing Additions,
these little add on kits enable you to make the charms into

The charms featured below are the Afternoon Tea Collection and
I've managed to put together a few more of these collections together

Cosy Cottage, Hearts and Vellum

Hello friends

I'm still away in Peterborough with my travel buddy Becca.
On Monday we moved across to a rental cottage in Oundle,
hotels are nice but staying in a period cottage is much nicer.
It also happens to be just a 5 minute drive to Hochanda studios which is perfect.

Here's our little place.  Inside it is all period with great attention to detail
including an Aga - now that's been a learning curve!
Do any of you have an Aga? How do you cope in the Summer?
It keeps the whole house so warm!
I did smile when Becca announced that her shed at home
is bigger than this little cottage :)

Being away I haven't had any time to craft - I did bring a crafting kit but it
hasn't quite made it out of the boot of my car.
Instead I'm sharing some projects that have been sitting in my drafts.
This is a card using the Glimmer Hot Foil plate Hearts and Love.
This is a great hot foil plate set as it is three hearts (and for only £7.50).
I've chosen to use the middle size in gold foil onto vellum.

A white card base with a gold mirror card mat
all affixed in place with E-Z Permanent Strips.
A further patterned paper mat and then the vellum affixed with two brads...
Bring Back the Brad!

It's a very simple card but I like the heart just there in the middle with the
patterned paper just visible through the vellum.

Have a lovely Thursday, take care friends.

Let's mix it up!

Hello friends

So I didn't quite get to that blog post yesterday,
I have a myriad of excuses I really do!
I was trying to upload some step photos of my mixed media project
and my laptop and phone did not want to play.
It was touch and go which one was going to fly out of the window first!

Today instead, let me share with you a project using die cuts and foiling,
mixing it up a bit.

This is Ringlet Round and Elegant Border,
both designed by Becca Feeken (my current travelling partner!)
Onto an ivory card base I've matted gold foil card.
I then hot foiled Elegant Border onto ivory card and die cut to a slightly
smaller square and affixed this in place with Crafty Power Tape.

I die cut Ringlet Round twice, once with ivory and with gold mirror
card to create that fine drop shadow.
Positioned over the Elegant Border.

Finishing touch, sentiment die cut and little gold flowers, leaves and pearls.

Other news:
For those who have been asking about the Jane Davenport
die cutting machine, we have them in stock, limited amount but I think
we are possibly the first in the UK!
And back to my mixed media project/ideas, please stay tuned,
I'm making lists upon lists of ideas right now, plans for
some very different things using dies and foiling!

Take care friends.
