Card Quilting

Hello friends

I've got a busy weekend ahead - demoing and teaching a workshop today
at The Art of Craft in Farnborough and tomorrow is Charity Kit Day
(also a lot of housework - groan!)

Back to something nicer...craft!
This card was featured on the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L blog
when I was away.
It uses the die - Tumbling Blocks, one of the Quilt dies designed by Lene Lok.

For a full tutorial please visit the Scrapbook Adhesives blog here.

Tumbling Blocks is available on the website here.
I'm finding these dies very therapeutic to work with, it is nice that
the die comes as a complete piece, not individual shaped dies -
this really speeds things up!
Lene Lok has designed more of this type of die - more available here.

Over on my personal blog is Day 3 holiday documented but if you wish to just see
craft please stick with the Hope and Chances' blog :)

Take care friends and please stop by tomorrow - Charity Kit Day.

Friday Die Day

Hello friends

This week's Friday Die Day is Mini Card/Booklet Gift Box,
a die designed by Becca Feeken - Amazing Paper Grace.

There are two pieces in the die set and the approximate measurements are:
Side Box Pieces: 3.5 x 3.00 in. 8.9 x 7.6cm
Box Panel: 5.40 x 6.20 in. 13.7 x 15.7cm

This is how each die looks cut/embossed.

To create the box you need to cut two of each.
Fold along the score lines.

The smaller pieces are the box sides and the larger pieces make up the
box base and lid.  It is really easy and all makes sense when the pieces are in front of you!

The box glued together.

To decorate I used Gossamer Knot die with silver mirror card behind
I enjoy making these with the little stamens to the middle.

The finished box.  It is a generous size ideal for larger gifts.
It has a good depth for plenty of chocolates!

Mini Card/Booklet Gift Box is coming into stock within about a week and
available to pre-order on the website here.
Gossamer Knot is available here.

Other news:  I will be at The Art of Craft in Hampshire on Saturday,
teaching a workshop in the morning and demoing in the afternoon.
If you live that way it would be lovely to see you.

Wishing you all a great weekend.

Friday Die Day

Hello friends

An abbreviated Friday Die Day this week!
It all got a little manic before I went away so I didn't quite have chance
to do all the step photos but hoping you will forgive me.

Today I want to share with you Half Hex.
This is one of the Quilt It dies designed by Lene Lok
and available to pre-order on the website here.

Half Hex comes as a one piece die but has multiple matching fall out pieces.
This means you can speedily create brilliant geometrical designs.
I chose to cut purple, lilac and white and arrange vertically onto a
white 5 x 7 Matting Basics die cut - these are back in stock here :)

The flowers are from Swallow and Heart die set.

Typed and die cut sentiment.

Half Hex will be in stock later this month and available to pre-order
on the website here.

Take care friends - I'm back in Blighty next Tuesday!

News about this month's charity kit

Hello friends

It is the first Sunday of the month and normally that means
Charity Kit Day! But... as I'm away I'm hoping you will not
mind a postponement.

There is definitely a kit prepared but instead of today it will be
revealed when I'm back home.  I will then be on hand to post them out to you.
(I thought I left Elliott with enough to do without the charity kits too!)

So please bear with me, I will instead announce the kit on
Sunday 17th September,
as normal it will be on both blogs and social media - I try to catch everyone!

To tide you over, please feel free to take a look at
previous kits and workshop kits available on the website here,
you never know you may find one you missed.

Proceeds are still donated when you purchase
any of the previous charity kits and workshop kits.

Thank you as always for your support and hope you
don't mind the little delay this month.
It will all be back to normal in October.

Take care friends.

Friday Die Day

Hello friends

By the magic of Blogger scheduling I am hoping this publishes
on the correct day while I'm away!
This week's Friday Die Day features Trapezoid Dance -
this is one of the Quilt It dies designed by Lene Lok

The beauty of these dies is that it is one die that cuts 9 identical shapes.
Both the fall out and aperture are useful.

Within minutes I was able to cut multiples of die cuts in different colours.

For the white die cuts, I placed them inside Flourish Stitch embossing folder,
also designed by Lene Lok.
(We are looking to source and stock this folder soon).

Onto a white card base panel I was able to align the shapes in horizontal rows.

The panel completed.

The finished card mounted onto white card base.
Stamped sentiment, the flowers and leaves are from Homespun -
if you follow my blog you'll know I've used these for years!

Trapezoid Dance is available to pre-order on the website here.
due in stock later this month,
I love this design, I'm thinking black and white would be perfect for manly cards
and festive colours could work really well too.

Take care friends, wishing you all a fantastic weekend back in the UK!
