Friday Die Day

Hello friends

Blog is having a bit of a makeover today so do not be alarmed -
it's looking different but you've arrived at Friday Die Day!

I'm having a bit of a snowflake flurry!
Yesterday I featured this die set on a CAS card and today I'm featuring
it as Friday Die Day with a very different project.
Create A Flake Six

Four snowflakes to the set and the approximate measurements are:

Snowflake 1: 1¼”
Snowflake 2: 1¼ x 1½”
Snowflake 3: 1½ x 1¾”
Snowflake 4: 3 x 3⅜”
This is how they look cut/embossed.
I chose to cut two of each snowflake (omitted the roundish one).
Adhered them together to make them thicker and then arranged them onto a piece of white.
I positioned some of them off the edge of the paper.
I then decided to get a little bit messy!
Applied some texture paste.
Once dry I applied a layer of white paint.
Then adding colour - these are the Donna Salazar Pigment Powders.
I kept rubbing various colours over the snowflakes and background until I was
happy with the result.
Added some metal snowflakes, ribbon and twine.
Attached the panel to the front of a notebook.
The finished project.
A close up pic.
Very different to my normal projects but I enjoyed getting a little bit messy!
Also shows the wonderful versatility of Create A Flake Six.
Take care friends -
wishing you all a wonderful weekend and hopefully the sun will return...
been a bit damp and grey in the South East.

went to a very good home following photography!
On the card I've used Pierced Rectangles along with...yes you've guessed it -

Friday Die Day

Hello friends

It's Friday Die Day!
Did you recall me saying I was knee deep in Christmas?
Well, today's I'm talking about Stylized Trees.
A lovely die set with three styles of trees, skinny, chevron and curly tip,
you also receive two types of tree bases, a candy (a sweet to us!)
and the all important star for the top!
Here are the approximate sizes:
Star: ¾”
Round Candy: ¾”
Tree Base 1: 1⅛ x 1⅛”
Tree Base 2: 1⅛ x 1½”
Tree 1 (Skinny): 1⅞ x 3¾”
Tree 2 (Chevron): 2 ⅞ x 3¾”
Tree 3 (Curly Tip): 3⅛ x 3¾”

This is how they look cut/embossed.
The curly tip die has lovely embossed snowflakes so I inked through to highlight those.

My card base, textured cream cardstock cut using 6 x 6 Matting Basics A
a snow mound cut with A2 Scalloped Borders Two,
stamped sentiment and first tree in place.
Skinny tree adhered with 3D Foam Squares.
Curly tree added.
Stars cut/embossed from gold mirror card, then 6 x 6 Matting Basics for
more gold mirror card and a black card base.
It's a fun card and pretty good for batch making!

Take care friends and wishing you all a wonderful weekend,
I'm Peterborough bound at Sir Stampalot - car is packed,
Mum is coming along too!
