Miss You Card

Hello friends,
Hope you all had a good weekend, must admit I had quite a lazy day yesterday,
even an afternoon nap with Bella!
This morning I will be much busier as heading off to my crafty studio to do some work.
Thank you to those who have submitted projects for the August Gallery Day - I will be uploading images and  doing a blog post with those very soon.  Gifts will be on their way :)
Today's card is one featured in this month in Cardmaking and Papercraft Magazine,
a 10 minute make and this truly was about 10 minutes!
Panels of decorative paper (Pink Paislee - Prairie Hill) and the feature is a stamped and inked
Eyelet Circle threaded with twine.
Photo A Day subject today is 'Writing'
I am an absolute fanatical list writer! I have so many notepads but I always need them to be pretty and especially like lists with the words 'To Do' already printed at the top!
These are very pretty and in fact you can download and print them from here

Back tomorrow dear friends, have a nice day.

TV, Love and News!

Hello friends,
Back home and unpacking from TV today.
Thank you to those who watched, recorded, emailed etc - yet again the time whizzed by quickly so unfortunately not many emails were read out.  Also demos were abandoned due to sell outs which is good but I so wanted to show more techniques.  I promise to do some step by step techniques on my blog very soon, especially featuring the vellum - I'm in love with vellum!
I am back on TV on 15 August.

For those that were able to tune in you may have heard my special news,
I had just heard that Spellbinders™ are happy for my little studio to be a Spellbinders™ Academy!!
This is beyond thrilling for me...I am just in the throws of equipping the studio with Grand Caliburs™ , dies and more.  I am preparing and typing up class lists -
you will all be the first to know once I've finalised arrangements.

I was also going to share another TV project with you today but it was dark by the time I got home so no photography opportunities.
Instead I am sharing this little design - some time back I mentioned a competition to design a handbag decorative panel for Helen Rochfort.  This was my entry, unsuccessful unfortunately but I still like the design!
Finally, (goodness I've been chatty!) today's Photo A Day subject is 'Logo'
I have chosen.....

....the company that changed my life!

Have a brilliant Sunday - my lovely mum is cooking dinner today, I am hoping to take Bella for a long walk and perhaps do a little bit of gardening.
Take care friends.

Telly Day!

Hello friends,
Yes it is today that I will be trekking my way up the M11 to Peterborough
to arrive at the Create and Craft Studios.
My shows are at 4pm (that's officially tea time so how about sitting down with a nice pot of tea
and plenty of cake) and 6pm (that's early dinner).
I do tend to associate times of the day with food!
I have been working on various techniques all week and really pleased with the results.
Here is a tag (well we've been tag-free for a few days!) the flowers (Rose Creations) and Floral Ovals are cut/embossed from white patterned vellum - hopefully going to share how I do this in one of my demos.

As always I love it if you can email in to the studio, I will try to get them read out,
time just seems to enter into fast forward when doing the shows!

Today's Photo A Day subject is 'Somewhere You Sat'
It's another picture of my garden...the sun streaking across my love seats.
To be honest I haven't sat out there for a while but the cats like it very much!
Also I received truly happy mail yesterday....
this is the first piece of mail I have received at my studio and it is...
chocolate!  How brilliant is that!
Gail (aka Chloe's Nan) sent these to me, a mixture of white and milk chocolate - heaven!
I am so pleased - really 'sweet' and kind!
Right I had better get sorted, pack up my car and kiss Bella goodbye.
Thank you for all your support - I truly value it.

It's Friday and it's.....Sticky Time!

Hello friends,
No - your eyes are not deceiving you!  It is Friday and I know...where is Die-Day??!
I am hoping that you will forgive me for not doing a Friday Die-Day this week -
I've been a tad busy with TV preparations but I can promise you that if you tune in to Create and Craft tomorrow I will have some interesting techniques and special things to share with you.

But - now you are here (you see I've hijacked you!) I can share a project I've made for
As I'm featuring the Square Petal Top Box on Create and Craft tomorrow
I thought I would create a very pink one with felt flowers.
All the details are on their blog, step by step photos too.  As usual, I need to ask you a little favour - if you have a moment to pop over to their blog and leave a comment I am very grateful.
Other news - I've added a chair to the Crafty Studio!
I had this idea that I could relax and sit there in between lots of crafting....mmm it's an idea anyway!
I added a cushion with an important message.
Lastly today, it is Day 3 of a Photo A Day and the subject is 'coin'
A little unimaginative I'm afraid!
Have a great Friday dear friends and I hope you can tune in tomorrow -
I will post the show times first thing.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

Hello friends,
A few things today - firstly another card featured in this month's edition of
Cardmaking and Papercraft Magazine.
I created my own spiral flowers and used Foliage, love stencilling those leaves.
These are the Pink Paislee - Prairie Hill papers, very much autumnal colours and very nice.
Secondly, remember the Home' Kit
Lynn has been super speedy and finished hers.  She kindly sent a picture across and I asked if I could feature it.  As you can see Lynn has made some clever tweaks including pastel chalk to the edges of the letters.  I think it's lovely and so interesting to see Lynn's take on the design.
There are a couple of kits still available - just email if you are interested.

Next up...look what I found!!!
Not quite in a bag but instead giant ones!
I decided they should go in a special jar and told the boys "hands off!"
But I don't think it is the boys I need to worry about!!
No chance Bella - no chocolate for dogs!
And - before I go, today's Photo A Day subject is 'One'
I decided to go with Chapter One.
I'm enjoying this photo thing already, oh dear another addiction!
Take care friends.

August Inspiration Day

Hello friends,
How did we get to August so quickly???
It's the first of the month and so it must be Inspiration Day!
Notice I haven't included one picture with an umbrella - I am ever the optimist!
What happens in August here in the UK?
Well obviously we have the Olympics.  But there is also Notting Hill Carnival, Reading Festival,
holidays, picnics, school summer holidays - all great stuff.
Remember you can click on the collage above to make it bigger.
Hopefully one or more pictures will inspire you to grab your crafty stuff - send a picture of your finished item  to me at christine.emberson@blueyonder.co.uk
Remember to include your address as I like to send out little gifts to those who take part and,
if you can, it is super helpful if you can tell me the names of any dies you have used -
I can normally tell just by looking but occasionally you clever crafters have me searching!
Images to be submitted by Monday 6 August and I will have a Gallery Day shortly afterwards.

It is also my first day of A Photo A Day
(the link will explain more, I'm thinking it is something jolly to add to my daily posts).
Day 1 - the subject is 'outside'....
I took this photo in my garden - the foliage is my neighbour's blackberry bush that visits each year,
I don't mind as the blackberries are delicious!

Have a happy day!
Take care friends.
