Carole's Happy Hanger

Hello everyone
Today Angel Carole has made a lovely project -
a Happy Hanger!

Carole is sharing with us her thoughts on making her projects.

I love the new Steel Contour dies for my Platinum machine,
but thought I’d try to do something more with Tag You’re It die than just making a tag.
I created this little hanger which was really quick to do.
As it’s quite compact, it would be easy to post to someone
as a gift too as a change from a card.

The three tags are cut from Gilded Winter paper by First Edition
which I had left over from Christmas. For extra strength,
I glued them to thicker cardboard cuts.
Then they were mounted on some cream canvas ribbon
and are decorated with small hearts and flowers, a sprinkling of
butterflies and embellished with pearls.
The word ‘celebrate’ is from the Phrase Two sentiments dies,
which I’m loving – so versatile.
The wooden ‘love’ and ‘happy’ are by Freckled Fawn,
but you could easily use words from the Phrase Two set.
A little chocolate organza ribbon finished it off.

Happy crafting! C : ) xx

My First Trip

Hi everyone

I've returned from my first trip to Stitches in Birmingham,
I've done some shopping so be ready to see some new
items on the website fairly soon!

I was amazed by how many items there are available
so it was difficult to decide.

I wasn't able to have a badge that said 'Big Cheese'
so 'Director' had to do!

Lots of design team projects to share with you soon
so please keep checking out the blog and website.

Bye for now.

Carole's Topiary Treasures

Hello everyone

Today Angel Carole is back with a card project using
Topiary Treasures

Carole is sharing with us her thoughts on making her projects.

I’ve had this Topiary Treasures die in my box for some time, but haven’t used it.
So when my friend gave me some lovely, muted floral papers,
I thought it was the perfect opportunity to try them. Sometimes,
I find that the die dictates the paper and, sometimes, it’s the other way round.
I’m still loving the Phrase Set Two sentiments dies.
Finding them really useful and am making cards like a mad thing.

I thought the Topiary Treasures die might be useful for a different style of
Christmas card too with white trees and a nice, red planter.
The embossing on the tree is really lovely.

Happy crafting! C : ) xx

Sam's Holographic Delight

Hello everyone

Today Angel Sam is sharing with us another card using
Daisy Pattern - one of the Sweet Dixie dies that I'm now stocking on the website.

An A6 size die that also adds a dotted/stitched effect around the edge.

Sam has chosen to use a piece of engraving art - holographic card.
It die cuts beautifully and then you can sand it down to
reveal the metal effect underneath.

By adding gems to the flower centres and black glitter card for the background,
you can achieve a wonderful sparkling card.

Ingredients:

Engraving Art, Holographic board, sanded, only attached on one side.
black glitter paper for background of card.
Treasure Gold - Ruby, Aquamarine and Royal Amethyst.
gems covered in glitter for centre of the flowers.
Black glitter, ebony ice cosmic shimmer, for the edges.

Thank you Sam and please check out Sam's blog Craft Room Delights.

Back with more Angel inspiration soon.

Carole's Seasonal Changes

Hello everyone

Today Angel Carole is back with multiple projects - Seasonal Changes
using the Spellbinders Leaves die set.

A clever idea to use different leaves and colours to make wreaths to represent the seasons.

Carole is sharing with us her thoughts on making her projects.

I love this Leaves die that was sent to me for my latest Elliott’s Angels’ project –
it was just crying out for a Big Project.
What says more of the changing seasons than the leaves?
So I decided to do a pretty wreath featuring leaves for each one.
This is a very versatile die with two leaf shapes and several different inserts –
there’s so much you could do with it. I tried to make each season a little bit different.
The background is 12x12 white linen card and I thought you could
use the designs as pages for an scrapbook annual or, perhaps,
frame them as wall art.
I tried to pick colours that would speak of the season too:
fresh greens for Spring, the colours of ice-cream, sunshine and sea for Summer,
the rich browns and oranges for Autumn and cool,
pearlised silver and white for Winter.
I think the Summer one is my favourite, but I really enjoyed doing them all.
Thanks for a great die, Elliott!
