Rose Creations - another technique!

Hello friends,
It's the start of a new week and a busy busy one for me!
I'm still talking about Rose Creations! I want to show you a little tag created from Floral Ovals
and the technique with the flower.
This shiny enamel-like effect has been created by spritzing the petals with Cosmic Shimmer Mist, while it is still very wet apply embossing powder.  It absorbs a lot of it but shake off excess then blast with a heat gun.
It dries quite firm but once cool it still pliable enough to bend the petals.
I seem to have failed over the last few days with my Photo A Day!
It slipped my mind as we celebrated my Dad's birthday at the weekend (his card will be featured soon).
Hope you all had a great weekend?
Take care and I'm back tomorrow.

Hi Christine, love the tag, will have to try the cosmic shimmer with the rose die. You are a busy lady so can be forgiven for a little slip up. Hope your dad had a great birthday and that you can get back to normal, whatever normal is.

Morning Christine,
Love the effect and would never have thought of trying this. Something else to add to my list of things to try. Now that the Olympics if finished I may just get the chance to do some of them...till the Paralympics start!!x

Your flower is a very clever idea and really sets off the tag

Unfortunately my little craft shop does not stock spritsing items so will have to try further afield .

Hope you all had a great time with your Dad on his birthday .

Hi Christine, Love the tag idea and and Rose technique, must have a play one of the days. On a personal note, I would have used a slightly larger brad in the centre.
Hope your Dad enjoyed his birthday, besides a super card from you, did he get a special cake made by your Sister??
Crafty best wishes, Carolyn x.

I stumbled across your blog. Always a pleasure seeing another crafter getting pleasure from what they do.

Im'e a gilder and use gold leaf and imitation gold leaf rather a lot.

It's really quite easy to gild onto paper, and there are various ways to create antique and distressed finishes as well.

If you have a moment, pop over to my site, there is quite a lot about gilding onto paper, in particular there is an old bookbinders trick which you can use to make really authentic looking imitation vellums and parchment papers from ordinary papers.

Good luck.

This is lovely Christine - the rose looks like a piece of jewellery - as if it could be transformed into a brooch.

Gorgeous colours.

I have just been fiddling with this rose but mine not quite as good as yours (better go and have another fiddle). Makes a lovely embelishment.
