Daisy, Daisy...and life is testing!

Hello friends

Sharing with you today a project I created for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L
using their 3D Foam Circles as daisy centres, heat embossed.

The full details are over on the Scrapbook Adhesives blog here.

This technique of using embossing powders on their 3D Foam Circles
works so well, not just the circles either, try it with their squares and shapes.

3D Foam Circles are available on the website here.

Sometimes life likes to test us and yesterday was a prime example of that.
I awoke to find I had a flat tyre on my car, turns out I had driven
over a screw.  Luckily it could be repaired but it took hours.

I came home to discover a smell of gas and thought it was coming from our
lounge fire, called out the people who know about these things and no,
much worse.  The pipes from my gas box outside coming into my home
have corroded and leaking gas, everything had to be turned off!

So when things feel like they are going wrong left, right and centre,
what should you do?
Craft and then craft some more...
it works, blood pressure now back to normal.
And pretty daisies also put a smile on my face.

I'm looking forward to an uneventful day today please,
engineers are visiting this afternoon to hopefully get all my pipes
in working order!

Please stop by tomorrow as it is Giveaway Day.

Take care friends.

It's so Summery!

Hello friends

Did you have a nice weekend?
Very changeable weather here in Kent but got the washing dry eventually.
Celebrated Father's Day with a roast dinner last night, always a favourite.

Talking of favourites, I've used Trefoil Crest again in my latest
YouTube video. I keep discovering dies that team with it so well.
It's a very Summery card.

The tag and filigree die cut is from Swirl Tags.

The little flowers are Rose Buds (on sale right now).

And to see how it all came together here's my latest YouTube video,
published yesterday afternoon on time...no wine beforehand!

My Love...!

Hello friends

Well that didn't take long did it...back to a wine project!
I can't stop creating with these dies and this design
Time for Wine A2 Card Front is an instant card make.

Onto a 5 x 7 ivory card base I firstly used the outer die to die cut
a solid rectangle in black cardstock, affixed to the card front.
I then die cut the design in both silver mirror card and ivory.
Applied distress ink to the ivory - Vintage Photo and then
a touch of red for the wine.

Affixed over the silver die cut to create a tiny drop shadow.
Placed over the black card.
I added grapes and vine leaves, these are from the
Frame Charms die set - adore those tiny vine leaves.

Final touch was the stamped sentiment - I think this
rather eclipsed my relationship with wine!!
Also one stray little vine leaf alongside the sentiment.

Items used today for this very quick card:

Video time this afternoon around 4pm over on YouTube,
please feel free to subscribe to my channel.
There is going to be videos every week - Mitchell is a hard task master!

Also you may have noticed the 'Nominate Us' button
top right of the blog, this is for the 2018 Crafts Awards.

We are very little fishes in a big big sea but would be blown away to
even be included in the nominations so if you feel you've had good customer
service from us or indeed if we fall into any other category,
please visit here for the info.

Take care friends, have a smashing Sunday.

How many layers?

Hello friends

I'm stepping away from the wine today..well in crafting that is,
I may enjoy a glass of the real thing this evening!

Instead, for today's project I've gone all layered and purple.
This is Sweetheart Swirl, one of the Romancing the Swirl dies.
It is a 4 piece die set and handy to be able to leave the centre whole
or use the oval to create an aperture.

I started with a 5 x 7 ivory card base and applied a strip of purple/lilac paper vertically.
I then cut a solid Sweetheart Swirl from ivory and then a second solid
and coloured with distress inks to tone with the strip of paper.

Placed these onto the card front and proceeded to cut two of the decorative swirls
from ivory, layered and placed with 3D Foam Squares in the middle.
Stamped sentiment to middle (Creative Expressions) onto the oval die cut.
A total of 5 layers - bit of a record for me.

Finishing touch is my little flowers to centre and card corner.
Lots of pearls added to flowers and around the swirl edge.
And LOOK...not a piece of mirror card in sight!

Sweetheart Swirl is available on the website as pre-loved here
so it's a nice price.

Take care friends, have a great Saturday and please look out for
my next YouTube video tomorrow afternoon - I may be on time this week!

Friday Die Day

Hello friends
This week for Friday Die Day I'm using
This is one of the Wine Country dies, I'm loving these
designs more and more.  Adaptable for many occasions
or it could be that I just love wine!
Barrel of Sentiments is a stamp and die set so you have the option of using
the wine names and messages when creating.
I've chosen to make two projects with this die set,
pretty much the same but switching out the sentiment for Father's Day.
And instead of step by step I've put together a video,
a very speedy video - lasts one minute!
If you click on the image below it should take you to the Hope and Chances
Facebook page and the video.
 The finished card.

I like the idea that the barrel can be created to look like a door.
Very much a hobbit house door!

And here is the variation, slightly darker and with different background paper.

Barrel of Sentiments is available on the website here
and you can view the Wine Country Collection here.

And behind the scenes ...Bella can be rather distracting when taking photos.
She assumes she is supposed to be in all of them!

This weekend it is serious crafting time for me,
I've got a couple of shows coming up on Hochanda on Monday 25 June,
more details to follow.

Have a lovely weekend and may the sun shine!
Take care friends.

Talking of charity a couple of things, firstly we still have just a few
of this month's kit left in case you missed it.
A wooden hanging heart perfect for wine bottles.
All the details are here.

Previous kits including workshop kits are also available here.

Now second piece of news, if you shop on the website you are probably
aware of our pre-loved section.
You may notice that certain dies say 'Pre-Loved - Charity Die'
this is because they have been kindly donated and all proceeds will
go to Ronald McDonald House Camberwell.

We have them all in a separate box in the stock room awaiting their new home
so feel free to take a browse here.

Also wanted to share with you, a lovely letter we received from the Royal Marsden,
we donated a big box of A4 coloured cardstock to their Oak Centre.
The Play Specialists there among other things, do arts and crafts with the children
and young adults.  It is so worthwhile and we were delighted to help.

Take care friends.

Too much wine??

Hello friends

Well after my admission that my video went up a little later than it should
on Sunday (due to having a glass of wine and completely forgetting)
I thought I should share a wine card today!

This is Wine Snippets.

To create my card I used an ivory card base and stamped with a script stamp lightly.
Over that I placed a Pierced Square frame mounted with 3D Foam Squares.
I used the largest Wine Snippet and die cut from gold mirror card and placed
inside the frame.

I then added the grapes and leaves (from Frame Charms) just down the side.

Ideal Father's Day card maybe or attractive invitations.
Wine Snippets is also ideal to create shaker cards.

Items used today with clickable links:

Please stop by tomorrow for Hump Day Giveaway and a shout out to
Diane James, you won last week but yet to message in for your prize.

Take care friends, have a lovely day.

Celebrate!

Hello friends

Hope you had a good weekend, it turned a bit cooler
here in Kent, I was grateful for that when walking Bella
and so what she!

Today's card is from Sunday's video tutorial and features
Words, one of the dies designed by Joanne Fink.

I chose to use just one of the dies to create a background embossed effect.

The video is here if you fancy a look.

I really like the font with this design.

A clean and simple design that can be applied to many colours.
Words is available on the website here.

Also worth mentioning is the new Cut and Emboss Folders,
these were featured on Hochanda over the weekend and sold out fast,
pleased to say we still have most designs in stock and available here.

Take care friends and wishing you a great start to your week.
