On Hochanda today...

Hello friends

I'm catching up after an extremely busy weekend of
workshops in Essex and Peterborough.
I had a lovely time at both and thank you to all those
who came along.

If you are a Hochanda viewer you may have caught
Spellbinders new collection launched last night with Julia Watts -

There's more shows today 9am, 1pm and 5pm featuring these dies,
here's some details of the very delightful designs.
They are all designed by Sharyn Sowell from her original paper cuts.

They depict everyday wonderful life through a silhouette style.
We have them arriving today and you can browse

Today back in my cabin to actually do some craft as opposed to
lots of paperwork :)

Take care friends.

As I head out the door...

Hello friends

Just wanted to say hello as I head out the door to
another workshop day, this time in Peterborough.

Yesterday I was 'Glimmering' all day at Crafts Plus in Basildon, Essex,
very busy workshop in the morning and a demo in the afternoon.
Lots of thanks to those who came along and as usual I meant
to take photos and forgot!

I can share with you the projects we made.

A mix of occasion cards.

All these hot foil plates are available on the website here
including many more lovely designs - Becca's latest plates too.
Mitchell has been on the website and reduced all the prices,
plates now starting at £4!

Take care friends, have a lovely Sunday and I hope it isn't
thunderstorms where you are.

Friday Die Day

Hello friends

This week's Friday Die Day is Lisette Oval.
This is one of Becca Feeken's Shadow Box Collection dies
that works alongside the shadow boxes or as a stand alone.
There are multiple ovals within the die set along with a decorative flourish.
I started with an ivory card base.
The patterned paper is Anna Griffin and available in a pack
on the website here (also one of our bargains!)
Using the middle size oval I cut out an aperture.

I then mounted the script patterned paper with Crafty Foam Tape.
Flipped the oval to reveal the reverse busier pattern and placed this inside
the aperture.

Using the decorative ovals, I die cut both from ivory cardstock.

I affixed the largest to the card front around the patterned paper oval.

Time to make the flowers - these are Cinch and Go Flowers IV
Cut from watercolour card.
Lots of sizes in this set so brilliant for whatever size flower you need.

I inked with distress inks, spritzed with water and cinched -
I really did squeeze and manipulate these to
create vintage(ish) looking flowers.

Clustered with the leaves on the middle size decorative oval.

The finished card with the addition of pearls, gold cord and
a little Hello sentiment.

For other items designed by Becca please click here.
back in stock, these work well with the shadow box dies.

I know many of you are awaiting the actual shadow box frames
to be back in stock.  I keep checking with the UK distributors but no sign as yet
but I promise to shout it from the rooftops as soon as they arrive.

A very busy weekend for me, I'm going to be at Crafts Plus in Basildon
tomorrow and Sir Stampalot in Peterborough on Sunday.
Both days are workshops, it still isn't too late if you wish to attend any,
please contact each craft shop to book.

Take care friends, have a smashing weekend,
what are you up to?

Dust is still to be found in many places but we've gone
past the stage of being able to write our names in it!
After many years of putting up with a grotty bathroom
I'm super pleased to have one that I'm not embarrassed of
and no hole in the ceiling is always a bonus!

Friday Die Day

Hello friends

I'm going magical for this week's Friday Die Day.
The approximate measurements are:
Scallops: 4.85 x 1.10 in. 12.30 x 2.80 cm
Unicorn: 3.15 x 4.25 in. 8.00 x 10.80 cm
Heart 1: 0.65 x 1.70 in. 1.70 x 4.30 cm
Heart 2: 0.60 x 1.55 in. 1.50 x 3.90 cm

I've cut the unicorn twice, white card and silver foil card.

I then used cut the two designs of heart bunting and kept the
fall out pieces too.

White card base, silver foil mat and pink inked paper.
This is actually from a paper pad that I picked up in The Works.

Alternating the heart bunting across the top of the card with the addition
of some gemstones.

Unicorn in place with 3D Foam Squares and a silver die cut drop shadow.

Sentiment and those little fall out hearts.
Added a few pink gemstones too, never knew I had those!

Happy Little Unicorn is available on the website here,
he/she is at a special price too :)
You can view all the Jane Davenport items here.
I'm really quite fond of this unicorn, here's another project
featuring paper piecing which is very effective.
Take care friends, wishing you all a wonderful weekend.
I'm hoping it is the finishing of my bathroom - hurrah!
