Crochet

Well hello there.
Since my recent and sudden addiction to crochet
I've received quite a few requests for the patterns and
details of what yarns I have used.
So here's the place.
I'm going to share photos, pattern links where possible,
and my favoured yarns.

NEW!

The Darcy Cushion

My first foray into pattern writing!
You can view the entire pattern here.
If you would like a printed copy posted out to you please
use the PayPal button below.

There is just a small fee for the printing and postage
(it runs into 11 pages with lots of photos!)

The Darcy Cushion Printed Pattern
£3.50

Items for sale:

In fear of us drowning under a deluge of blankets I have decided
to make some available for sale.
There is just one of each so a first come you win basis!

I use acrylic yarn so blankets are fully washable,
I recommend by hand or a gentle machine cycle -
pop the blanket into a pillow case/laundry bag and dry flat.

Items available here or in my Folksy shop
link on home page or click here.

Now finished and enjoyed every minute of this pattern. It is has a nice sequence and the edges stay lovely and straight which is perfect for when completing the border.  Also of favourite of Bella's. The yarn is Stylecraft DK.

Little Fans Natural Blanket
Intermediate Project

The Little Fans pattern is a YouTube video by Bella Coco Crochet available here.  The wide border is a mix of single and double crochet stitches.  I went for a wide border to make the blanket just a little bigger.

Yarn: Sainsbury's DK - their yarn is lovely and smooth, highly recommend.  I used 4 balls, a 4mm crochet hook.  Cast on a 100 stitches, continued until I was happy with size.

Tranquil Waters Blanket
Intermediate Project
Kit available here.

I've finally finished this one and it has a home in my cabin.  Very handy during the chilly months. The bobble edging is time consuming but well worth doing as it makes a lovely finishing touch.

Mock Cable Knitted Throw
Intermediate Project

The pattern is from  Hobbycraft blog here.

Yarn: the pattern suggests Hug it Out yarn available from Hobbycraft but I've used 8 x 100g balls of King Cole Big Value Super Chunky, available in a myriad of colours from Wool Warehouse - details are here.

You need to use large circular needles (details in pattern) which are a little unwieldy at first but after a few rows it becomes easier.

Double Crochet Silver Blanket
Easy Project

Pattern - my own.
Cast on 100 stitches with a 4.5mm crochet hook.
Double crochet throughout until desired length/roughly a square.
Shell border - tutorial via YouTube.

Yarn: King Cole DK Silver -
7 x 100g balls

Made one in pink too which is now for Bella!

Dune Baby Blanket
Intermediate Project
Pattern - Dune Blanket Design from Lucy at Attic 24

Yarn originally purchased as a kit - Spring Abstract Blanket by Bella Coco Crochet to create a granny square blanket.  Once started I realised my dislike for granny squares (!) so I decided to create this design instead.  The yarn is Paintbox Simply DK - 11 x 100g balls.  I believe the actual kit is no longer available but easy to replicate by purchasing the yarn separately.

Dune One Colour Blanket
Intermediate Project
Pattern - Dune Blanket Design from Lucy at Attic 24

When you discover a crochet stitch you love you just keep doing it!  This is the Dune shell stitch just using one colour, Stylecraft DK Mushroom.

Stash Busting Blanket - own design
Easy Project
A mix of Double and Trouble Crochet Stitches
Stylecraft Yarn

The Eleri Blanket by Libbycraft - pattern to be released on Etsy

Hi Christine great idea. Can you add pattern details for the poncho you featured a little while ago. Really liked the look of that. Thanks. Margie x

Lovely crochet. I am using the Silver King Cole yarn at the moment on my blanket. It’s a nice neutral colour. I am using it with shades of purple and lilac. Thanks for all the information. Good idea.
