A Weekend of Teenagers!

Look what happens when half a dozen teenagers sleep over!
And this is when the cat thinks 'oh well no room in the lounge, I'll sleep in the hallway with the shoes!'
Mitchell turned 17 (yikes!) and to celebrate we opened the house up to his friends for one big sleepover, they squeezed themselves in to the Victorian Terrace like sardines,
settling on camp beds, air beds and sofas.
Well fed on pizza and homemade cookies they were all brilliant -
I have a feeling they will be back soon!

Fridays come around faster than ever right now but it's nice to know it's
Chicken Soup time again.
This week a lovely pink and black silhouette picture.
And my interpretation (with lots of butterflies yet again!)

Even More Thrilled!

I've made it through to the final round!
I opened up the email from Spellbinders and actually squealed with excitement -
(sent a cat running but it was necessary)!
So I've got to get my creative head on but I am so excited that I've got this far.
Thank you to my friends and family who have had to listen to me go on and on about this
for the last few weeks - you're great!

What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday!

Welcome and happy Wednesday everyone.
Today on my craft desk is ... Imogen!
Just behind her is a little project I've been working on - it's my eldest son's birthday next week so I'm making simple boxes for table favours.
They are super dinky so not too many goodies going inside.
I'm just decorating them with .. yes of course, a butterfly!

Have a great week and remember to swing by Julia's desk

Chicken Soup - Recipe #25

Good evening.  It's time to be inspired and get crafting with Chicken Soup
I selected the inspirational picture this week and no suprise really it's .....butterflies!
I decided there is no limit on butterflies and went quite mad with my punches.
I created this layout at a one hour challenge at a retreat last year - perhaps sometimes it is good to work under pressure!

Have fun and join in.

What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday!

Hi everyone,
Thank you for all your great comments last week.
Firstly, I'm sorry!  Harry the dog did not make an appearance - this is because I'm only his 'sub-mummy'!
(Harry belongs to my sister and I only get to look after him when they go away).
I promise he will make an appearance very soon though.

So to my desk - it hasn't changed a great deal, I'm still managing to keep it tidy.
The moment I stood up to take this photo Darcy took my chair!

On my desk is this little creation - a 'Seasons' book created at Pickleberry Papercrafts.
I attended one of their workshops tutored by the brilliant Jane Dean and what a great day.
The book is created primarily with Tim Holtz Seasons papers and contains pockets and tags.
It's still unfished but I love it.

Have a great week - come back soon and remember to pop over to Julia.

Scrapbook News and Review Magazine

It was some time ago I sent off a layout to Scrapbook News and Review Magazine so it was a really lovely surprise to get an email from them to say one of my layouts has being published.
If you subscribe please nip over there and have a look SNR - it's featured in their section 'Current Calls - In the Spotlight' - be warned - you might stay a while there are lots and lots of lovely layouts to view!
In case you're not a subscriber this is it!
Grown Up - Too Soon
I created the layout with my absolute favourite papers - Fancy Pants Roadshow - the photo is of eldest son. It did cause slight ructions in the household - these sons of mine really do keep count you know!

Chicken Soup - Recipe #24

Good evening everyone - it's Chicken Soup time.
This week's inspirational picture is this delicate dandelion canvas - I think it is lovely.
I was inspired to make this card - very rare for me but I actually enjoyed the simplicity of the design.
Still could not resist a tiny tiny butterfly!
Click on the link above and see all the other lovely 'makes' and join in the challenge.
Have a good weekend everyone.

What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday

Thank you for all your lovely comments about my new blinds last week - yes, I promise to pull them back so the garden is visible but right now the garden is horrible, can't wait for Spring.
Apologies to all those who remarked on the serious lack of cats!
To make amends.....

here is Imogen rather happily breaking in a new cushion -
a Christmas gift from my sister (she knows me so well!)

and then Fluff managed to get in on the act (she's a bit grumpy and not photogenic!)
They all love the new cushion!

But now to the workdesk - some serious design team work going on especially as my BIG news is that I made it through the first round of Spellbinders DT call - I am chuffed to bits.
This photo definitely shows the crafting conservatory really is so much cosier at night now, I install myself there with DVD player and hours simply drift away!

Have a great week everyone and come back soon.

So Thrilled!

So today when I woke up I poked my nose through the curtains, it was dark, cold and raining and as I got ready for work I truly felt as if the black clouds had actually forced their way indoors and were descending upon me UNTIL I opened my emails.  There squeezed between truly insignificant emails was a wonderful surprise.  Spellbinders had contacted me to confirm that I had made it through Round 1 of their Design Team application and was now invited to submit a layout for Round 2!!
To say I'm thrilled is an understatement - I'm amazed and ecstatic.  I'm now slightly panicking at what to do for Round 2 but hoping my creative head will be in full working order tomorrow.
Wish me luck as I distress, stamp, sew and add butterflies!

Chicken Soup - Recipe #23

It is Chicken Soup time again and the picture for inspiration this week is a rather stunning bedroom - not quite sure I would like a clock quite that big though!

And this is my interpretation - I chose to use some papers in turquoise and green, bit of stitching, punching, a rosette flower, some rub-ons, added a butterfly or two (of course) and hey presto!

Nip over there to join in the challenge. Have fun creating.

What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday!

Hi everyone.
The crafting conservatory got a Christmas gift - new blinds.  It has made such a difference, feels a lot more cosy and I know in the Summer it will be great as I will not be driven out by eye burning brightness!  And, in honour of the blinds I had a really good tidy-up - I am a bit of a neat freak but I don't think the desk has ever looked this tidy!

I've been a busy girlie as now I'm also designing for Scrap Our Stash and ScrapFIT so watch out for all their challenges.  I will be posting all the details on my blog with links so come back now and again and be on the lookout for the great prizes too.

So unfortunately no 'makes' to show you right now as they're under wraps for the Design Teams but nip across to Julia's with all the links to some brilliant workdesks.

Have a great week and come back soon.
