Leather Effect and Giveaway!

Hello friends
Today I would like to introduce you to Angela Dodson who is a
member of the Papermill Design Team.
She has created these two lovely projects using the limited edition
leather embossed card in buff and white.
A clever handbag.
And a wallet with faux stitching.
The card really does look like leather!
I am pleased to say that I have a limited stock of the leather effect card in buff and white
available in the shop - sold in small boxes - £5.00 white, £4.50 buff.

Now - for those of you who cannot make it to the shop I thought I would arrange a giveaway
of some of the leather effect card.  Really simple, just leave a comment and I will pick
out a few names next week.

For more brilliant projects be sure to check out Angela's blog here.

I'm heading off to Faversham this morning - The Artistic Stamper,
today is Spellbinders Create A Flower class.
Really looking forward to spending the whole day creating.

Enjoy your Sunday and don't forget to leave a comment.
Take care friends.

Morning Christine
I have used this leather effect card in the past - and I have found it to be excellent. I love the idea of using it for a faux handbag
Have a nice day

Hello Christine, I like very much the leather look card as I still have a few pieces left from a visit to a Paper Mill shop at Sprinfields. I have mainly for the fronts of "books". Enjoy your day and hopefully the sunshine also.

I had a few sheets of leather look card, years ago. I made a purse and wallet with them, but could never find a realistic effect on any card I saw advertised after that. This card looks brilliant and I would be rushing down to your shop if I were close enough. I hope very much to be lucky this time for the give away (I don't usually win anything, so I probably won't be lucky) . Got to be in it to win it they say!

I'd love to try the leather effect card, it looks great in the photos. I used to like a product called "Almost leather" that was a foam you stamped in and heated to give an embossed faux leather effect but I've not seen it for years.

Hi Christine,

thank you so much for featuring 2 of my projects using the 'papermill leather embossed' card. It really is quite realistic and super to work with. There are some more pics of the projects on my blog including inside views of the wallet. http://www.pollypurplehorse.blogspot.co.uk/2014/06/more-in-buff.html

btw the buff colour is extra nice to use for those often difficult to make 'male themed' cards too.

I just need to persuade them to make it in other colours too ;)

Have a wonderful day
Angela

Morning Christine, I have a 'block' of navy leather effect card that I picked up at the NEC a few years ago, I've used it in the past as a base for cards for men, I shall have to dig it out and see what I can create. I intend to have a crafty day today (got a craft fair next week) and also next Thursday, 2 full days of craft in a week aren't I lucky ?. Have a great Sunday, wish I was closer to be able to attend your workshops. Lynn xx

I am trying to update mine daily!
Have a great say everyone no matter what you are to!

Hello Christine,
The leather effect looks really good. I think Sizzix had packs called sizzles which were all different colours. Always nice to have texture on a card.

Goodness, I love the leather effect card. I've not seen anything like that in my area. Sadly, I'm right the other side of the south from you, here in Cornwall. If I'd been closer I would have come into the shop to buy some of your stock. I'll instead have to keep my fingers crossed in the hope that I'm one of the lucky ones to get chosen for your kind give-away. x

good morning everyone, thank you so much for all the lovely comments on my projects. :)

I am going into hospital today for a little op. But when i am back on my feet i will be looking at making some tutorials. I tend to make things as I go along but quite a few people have asked about measurements etc, so i will do my best as soon as I can.

I love the bag + wallet, great inspiration.I have used the leather card before + loved it, though not in buff (I nearly typed "in THE buff", ha ha) Sadly we no longer have a papermill outlet in Northern Ireland ,so I can't just "nip in" to top up my stash.
