House Call!

Hello friends
As promised, photos of the trip to Ronald McDonald House yesterday.
The trip to King's was a little gruelling for Elliott - yet more blood tests
which he truly hates.  We will not get the results of last week's MRI just yet.
Onto happier moments...
The house was bathed in sunshine when we arrived!
Elliott's name had been engraved onto a little silver plaque and he then selected his wooden leaf.
Here it is complete with fingermarks (I resisted asking for polish and a duster!)
The Tree of Life and Elliott holding the cheque.
The total was for £750 - the amount was kindly rounded up by Barbara Fulton -
(who doesn't like odd numbers) - so kind of you Barbara, thank you.
And here I am - I think I still have my 'worried Mum' face!
To move his name up to a bird on the tree we need to raise an additional £250 so
watch out ...I'm thinking future kits for sure!
And the best photo of the day - when you're down ice cream always brings a smile!
Talking of kits - yes, there are still a few left.
Please let me know if you would like to purchase one - they are now
£6.50 each as they no longer contain a raffle ticket.
Email: christine.emberson@blueyonder.co.uk

And yet again talking of the kit ...
when Emma (Cornish Emma) received her kit she decided she would prefer to make
cards.  She used every bit of the kit and just added a few more die cuts, paper and cardstock.

Beautiful cards Emma and I'm delighted to see the kit utilised differently.

Now I'm so sorry...I forget to tell you how many butterflies were in the jar!
At the Charity Event there was a jar full of paper butterflies and the person who guessed
the amount (or very near) was the winner.  The amount was 454 and the
winner was Pam Davies who received a bunch of butterfly goodies,
stamps, papers, embellishments and more
(can you imagine how hard it was for me to part with those!!)

Still time to enter the Mystery Prize draw.

I did have a few enquiries as to what will be in the box, a few people thought
it might be Bella!! No, I'm afraid I couldn't part with her -
it will definitely be lots of lovely craft goodies.

Take care friends - I'm back soon.

Morning Christine, Beautiful piccies of Elliott and yourself, hopefully the ice cream was a little compensation for the tests that Elliott had to endure. I'm sure we could all get Elliott's name onto a birdie.
Well done, Emma, what a brilliant idea and your cards are beautiful.
Lots of love from Patricia xx

Hi Christine,
Thank you for sharing your pictures with us all, and Elliott looked so cool. Sorry he had a bad time at the hospital. I look forward to your next fund raising ideas to get Elliott's name on a bird and to help Ronald McDonald House. Auctioning some of your lovely projects is a great idea as mentioned by Michele earlier. It would be great to own a masterpiece. Love the cards by Emma. Is Mitchell fully now?

Hi Christine
Fab pictures Christine. Great to see Elliot's name on the tree. They have a similar thing in Bournemouth General Hosp. My niece's name is on it, after she died of breast cancer at the ripe old age of 34. Hopefully you will have better news from his MRI.

Lovely to share in your day yesterday and what a super amount raised. But I know we can do better so keep thinking and we'll support you. Elliott looked great and still smiling - well done both! xxMargaretxx

Wow £750 was indeed a good amount to raise by us crafters.....we're not a bad lot really. Elliott looks well although he obviously is still recovering & going through an ordeal with all the tests etc. & it's only natural Christine that you should have the worried mum look, that's what mums do well-worry. Looking forward to the next lot of kits.

Hi Christine, Sorry to hear the hospital visit was a bit difficult, not a good start to the day. However, it was good to see that Elliott's day had a happier ending, name on the tree and ice cream.

Hope Elliott gets his name on a bird soon (the wooden block on the tree, that is, not the human type)!

Hope to raise some money at the end of August for you, fingers crossed.
Take care

Hi Christine
Pleased to see the photographs of Elliott and yourself at the house. I hope it brightened up the day after the hospital appointment; you must be so pleased with the amount raised so far.
As already indicated, we really must try to aim for the magical bird! I think another kit or cake recipe book is called for.
Well done Emma, your cards made with the kit are inspirational. Must get a move on and use my kit, currently busy painting and decorating while the sun is shining.
Take care, Anne x

So lovely to see Elliot's name on the tree of life. A wonderful effort for a very worthy cause. I'm quite sure we can get Elliot's name much further up the tree. As you are thinking about new kits, how about a kit that we could purchase to give as a Christmas present (not necessarily Christmas themed)? I have several crafty friends who would love to receive such a gift. There must be others in the same position as myself.
Hugs to you all xx

As a Mum of a child who has had to endure emergency brain surgery twice in her 21 years I know exactly how you feel and a place like this would have been wonderful when we first had to visit London for her first surgery. I would love to help raise funds and will put my thinking cap on! Kim
