I'm Back!

Hello friends
I took a weekend off, from blogging that is - I've been super busy in other ways.
Deeply touched by all your kind comments and messages regarding
Elliott - it looks like we are off to The Royal Marsden this week.
Such a shame his radiotherapy will clash with the start of college
but we are hoping to work around it as best we can.

Ginny - yes please, I would love to see your recipe for tea cake!

I worked my little socks off on Saturday, every kit has been posted out -
(unless you have asked me to delay yours or have chosen to collect from the shop).

The shop/studio has started to have a huge tidy up, I'm not very good
at working in a muddle and it had got massively muddly!

At some point I need to give the front of the shop a new lick of paint and I'm hoping
to do that before the colder weather arrives - I think I will enlist some help with that one!

In line with launching the new website new classes will be announced, I have some
lovely project ideas for Autumn and Christmas.
Yes it is that threatened new website again!!
It is coming I promise!  I have been the one delaying it for many reasons
but we are definitely on the brink now.

Now to a craft project (I get there eventually, you can see how much I chatter
hence why I lose my voice occasionally!)
This is another card made just using one die set - Fall Foilage
Using white cardstock I cut aperture leaves and placed green/brown paper behind.
I then raised the cardstock on 3D Foam Squares so you really get the aperture effect.
I toned my card in line with the Autumn theme but you could easily use flower dies and
brighter colours.  Twine (I love twine!) and tag.
Stamp is from Penny Black.

Take care friends, hope you have a good week.

Hi Christine, I love today's card, it's so unusual~ I especially like the apertures with leaf effect paper behind. Hope Elliott's radiotherapy goes well. Good luck to both Mitchell and Elliott as they start college (hope Elliott's start isn't affected too much by his treatment~ keep the smiles coming Elliott!)
Hugs to you all, Maggie xxx

Hi Christine. Sorry you were so busy over the weekend, but it is worth it just to catch up sometimes isn't it. (just for your own peace of mind!)
Good luck to Mitchell and Elliot on starting college. I am sure Elliot will still manage fine even with radiotherapy in the middle. Your card is gorgeous, beautiful autumnal colours, which is just around the corner, sadly! Take care.

I like the aperture effect, not so sure about the twine. I'm not a twine/ribbon person.

Morning Christine, a big thank you for this card, as I have these dies and only used a couple of them, I think I may have to borrow this design if that's ok with you? So simple but so stunning. I hope all goes well with Elliotts Radiotherapy and he doesn't get too many side effects. Sending a big hug and positive thoughts. Emma xxx

Hello. what a clever card I just love it. Will do that for a birthday this week but with brighter colours perhaps as I'm still hanging on to the end of summer. Plenty of time for the shop front, you've enough to think of with the start of college and the treatment for Elliott. Wishing you well for all of it. xxMargaretxx

I love this card! I always forget that the dies can be used this way. You really must stop tempting me to buy more I can't keep up! Looking forward to the new website launch.
Hope the week goes well for you all.

Hi Christine

What a lovely card this is! Such a clever way of using the dies too. I don't have that set, but I'm going to think about using others that I have for something similar...thank you for the inspiration!
Sounds like you have had a busy weekend, but I was really pleased to see from FB yesterday that you managed some crafting & 'me' time.....much deserved.
Good luck to your boys for their start at college, and will be thinking of Elliot as he starts his treatment, hoping all goes well for him

Hi Christine,
Thank you for being so speedy in sending out the kit, it arrived this morning. Your card today is appropriate for the start of the Autumn term so I do hope the boys settle in well to college life and their new courses. I am sure Elliott will manage to cope with academic work whilst having treatment especially with the help of his big brother!
Hope you are feeling better and the cough has subsided. I forward to seeing the new website and all the other things you have in store for us.

Hello Christine, I just love todays card. It's so simple yet so very effective. I think it would work with quite a few dies so I'll certainly be having a try at this one or similar.
Hope all goes well for Elliott this week at the hospital and good luck to both boys as they start college.
Looking forward to seeing the website, projects and especially the workshop list. I really do hope I'm able to attend one of them.
My kit has just arrived so can't wait to have a play soon.
Take care
Toni xx

This is a really lovely card with the leaves - I love autumn, it's the best time of year and this one is definitely sooo autumnal!!! Just love it.

My kit arrived this morning and I am itching to start it but I really must do some DT work first - methinks I will have to portion my day off like a school timetable - lol!!

Hugs to you all and thank you again for my kit.

PS So pleased for Mitchell and Elliott being able to start college, lots of luck to them both.
