A Good Read and Feet!

Hello friends
For those of us who haven't quite succumbed to Kindles, Kobos, Nooks or
any other e-readers - how about a bookmark for a real book!
A really simple project and it features just one die -
Striking in black and white and using just the flower centre to create a
pretty top and bottom edging for the bookmark.
Keeping the panel as flat as possible so it sits snugly inside your book but
making the top flower decoration dimensional so it overhangs.
Of course, if you no longer have books -
you could just use a portion of this to create a card or gift tag.
I admit to owning a Kindle, in fact the boys bought it for me but I do still love a
bookcase full of books.

Huge thanks to you all for your encouraging comments, they are such a comfort.
I did laugh out loud when Amanda referred to 'Embersonettes' - that is so good!
We had a relaxing weekend although Mitchell was kept a little busy....
He is looking to earn some money (having a girlfriend is a costly business!)
and the shop front needs a face lift.
Yes, that is the outline of feet and it does say 'Chiropody' and 'Treat Your Feet' !!
Some time ago the shop was a chiropodist ....
(thankfully I've never found any toenail nail clippings - yuk!)
They applied lots of vinyl stickers and the owner before me just painted over them.
We realised the stickers were beginning to reveal themselves so the only course of action was to peel them off and sand the wood down before repainting.
That is quicker said than done!
Mitchell is going back today to start the painting, wood is being replaced so no more rotting bits -
it will look all spruced up ready for later this year when I get back in the swing of things :)

Thank you again dear friends, I will be dropping by to leave posts,
I enjoy writing them and of course, hearing from you all.
Much love.

Hi Christine. I echo Wendy L's sentiment of glovely :) Nothing beats curling up with a proper book and seeing them on display, even if a kindle etc. is very handy at certain times. Looks like Mitchell is doing a grand job on the shop front. You will all be in my thoughts and look forward to hearing from you when you get a chance. Take care.

Love the bookmark. Although electronic books are convenient, I don't think they will ever completely replace printed ones. You can't SMELL an e-book, or write a dedication in the front, or press flower petals between the pages!

Hi Christine

looks like you are keeping Mitchell busy, plenty of work to keep him occupied. Love the bookmark idea. I have a kindle, nice for taking away on your holiday's and while waiting around in hospital's and doctors surgery. I do still read books though. Linwood Barclay is a fantastic author if you see them about pick one of his books up. keep your chin up Elliot, and look forward to hearing from you regarding progress in due course.

I hope the spruce up of the shop front doesnt go the same way as the quick tidy up of the back of our house, these things never turns out to be the 2 day jobs you thought they'd be! Love the bookmark, JuliaTx

Morning Christine, Your bookmark is gorgeous. I also have a Kindle, but because I love books too, I usually order the book and also the kindle version, because I have 3 bookshelves ha ha, but always read from the Kindle, it is easier ha ha.
Mitchell looks like 'he's having fun' ha ha, he's learning early that girlfriends 'cost money', but he's combining helping Mum and also helping himself ha ha.
Huge hugs to you all.
Lots of love from Patricia xx

I have this die! But I didn't recognise it in black and white, I'll definitely be trying it that way.

Well done Mitchell, it doesn't seem 5 mins since you did all the shop front, but he's doing a good job.

Hi Christine,
Love the bookmark. Like you, I love the kindle but I also wouldn't like to do without library books and of course, reference books in the tried and tested medium of PAPER.
Well done Mitchell, with the shop front. I know you don't mind spending the money on your girl friend (do you have a choice?lol)

Hope things are getting better for you, Elliott.

All in all, my good wishes go to all of you. And Christine, I take my hat off to you.
Stay strong, Rose
