Hello friends
Yes it is back!
Straight away...apologies for the photos being a little dark, struggled with light - craving sunshine!
This week I am featuring Potpourri.
This one of the die sets designed by Becky Fleck, it is very folksy and I love that it
has three designs of hearts, two stars and a square label shape with a pinking edge.
This is how it looks cut/embossed.
I've chosen to make a little Valentine gift card. This is quite speedy...
just in case you need to make more than one.....!
I created a blank card base from white cardstock just a little bit larger than the label shape.
I then cut/embossed white hearts with just a single red one.
Using a scoring board (or ruler) score down the centre of each heart and fold.
I applied a thin layer of adhesive to the fold.
For any of you that have visited my classes you will have heard me sing the praises of
a 'Fine Tip' dispenser! You can just see the nozzle in the picture - it allows you to
dispense 1/2mm of adhesive exactly where you want it!
I decant my Cosmic Shimmer glue into it.
I do have the dispensers in my shop in case any of you are interested...just email.
I've positioned the hearts placing a red one to the middle with a tiny gemstone.
Using Crafty Foam Tape adhered to my card blank.
A close up picture....
You may notice the edges of the hearts and label look slightly 'grubby' - this is where my
cutting mat is very worn (well loved) and tiny pieces of coloured card rubs off onto white cardstock.
One tip to avoid this is to keep one side of your cutting plate purely for white card...
good advice eh....perhaps I should take note!
Have a wonderful weekend and safe travels to Val who is travelling to the UK from Spain,
bring your scarf and mittens!
bring your scarf and mittens!
Take care.

Love the way you have used these dies, which wouldn't normally appeal to me.
Morning Christine, This is a truly quick and simple card, lovely hearts, they are like butterflies, love it.
I too, forgot to keep one side of my cutting plate just for white cards ha ha.
Safe journey Val, you will need all your warm and cosy clothes.
Lots of love from Patricia xx
Hi Christine. Oh what a lovely card. I'm in raptures.
thanks for the good wishes for my journet to the UK. I've tried not to get too excited at the thought of seeing my son who I last saw in September but today I woke up feeling tingly all over and lots of excitement came over me. Can't blog sadly when I'm over there but think of the fun i'll have catching up when i get back.
Take Care.
Val in Spain xxx
Morning Christine,
A cute card and as you say very quick have seen these dies on a sale site and though I may not have much use for them, perhaps I'll think again.
Safe journey to Val bring your warm clothes.
Have a good day.

Hi Christine
I love your gift card today, first time I've seen these dies!
Thanks so much for the tip about using one side of the plate for white card only, why didn't I think of that......doh! Will start immediately as I've spent ages trying to avoid the problem, but with no success.
Hope you have a great visit to the UK Val, you'll certainly notice the difference in temperature.
Thanks for your FDD Christine.

Lovely card Christine, wouldn't have thought this die set was much use but i can not see lots of possibilities. Any chance you can show us a full picture of your glue dispensing thingy majig xx hazel
Morning Christine, not heard or seen these dies, you've made a lovely card and this layout would work well with other shapes too. My white card also ends up with coloured edges from cutting plate, i tend to ink most edges so its not a problem for me. Emma
What a striking, yet simple layout, so effective and lovely in just the white with the accent red. Lovely set of dies. Its amazing, you see a set of dies and dismiss them, yet when you see them demonstared realise that they have lots of possibilities. Thanks Christine, Keep warm, Anne
Lovely card Christine, so simple yet very effective.
I sometimes get grubby edges to my die cuts but I get rid of them by gently scraping the edgeS with craft sandpaper. No need to apply too much pressure and it normally works a treat.
Have a good weekend.

Love the card Christine - simplicity at it's best.
This is so simple and yet says it all!!! Very pretty indeed Christine. I have just watched Bella in the snow and she is just cute! Love her!
As for the cutting plate - I think mine is totally beyond redemption by now. Although I haven't given it a scrub so I shall have a go at that first.
Hugs Sue Pxxx

Hi Christine, If you've forgotten to keep one side of the cutting mat for whites just place a fine piece of white copier paper between the dies & the cutting mat. I find it works a treat for keeping my whites white. :-)
HI Christine,
such a super little card. I love the button die amongst the lovely hearts.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.
