Lovely Dad and a Giveaway!

Hello friends

A scrapbook page today featuring my lovely Dad.
This photo was taken on a holiday in Wales a few years ago.
As always I try to make the photo the main feature of my page and because it's a page
about my Dad I kept it less fussy (no flowers!) and adopted a geometrical theme.
The dies used are Classic Hearts and Address Book.
The papers are Fancy Pants - As You Wish.

Talking of papers...the Spellbinders papers - I've been checking out distributors
and not having much joy but I'm onto it!
In between I have a pack of Celebra'tions Prints to give away.

24 sheets 12" x 12" (two sheets per patterned paper) in 12 different patterns
that can be used for many occasions,
not just for scrapbooking, also useful for cards and mixed media projects.

Just leave a comment on today's post and a winner will be picked out next week.

Take care friends.

Hi Christine
Lovely layout, and you really achieved a masculine result - which I struggle with

I'm just SO much more of a cardmaker than a scrapbooker, and yet when I see you post a layout I'm always tempted to give it another try......
Those papers look lovely, I can think of at least half a dozen recent projects that would have been improved by them!

Fab photo of your Dad Christine and love your clean crisp style lay out !! "Less is more" doesn't have any meaning for me when it comes to scrapbooking or cards, stopping is sooo hard for me, but I have fun !!

Love the papers giveaway such a fun pack !!

Morning Christine, I'm loving your layout, and the piccie of you and your Dad is lovely. I imagine that scrapbooking a 'male' page is easily as hard as making a card for a 'male', but I'm definitely not a 'less is more' person, exactly the opposite actually hahahaha.
This is a very pretty 'giveaway', gorgeous, gorgeous, papers, thank you for the opportunity.
Lots of love from Patricia xx

Love the layout Christine, I am much more of a "more is more" kind of crafter and find it really hard to move away from that, but I love the cleaner designs!

That is a great masculine page Christine. I am sure it is precious to you. I love the geometric touch it is much better for a masculine layout than flowers (unless of course he is a gardener.) I sometimes struggle with mens cards so this is nice to see.

Hi Christine,
I have to admit that I'm not a scrapbooker and stick to card making. However, I just love the page you made for your dad. It's masculine enough for any man but could equally be used for a different page subject.
I have always had problems making masculine cards and the other day my sister and I went through my entire stock pile of finished ones to try and find one that would suit for my brother-in-law's birthday. In the end we had to go for one I'd made with beach huts and seagulls - fitting as they live in Newquay thank goodness lol. Thanks for the chance to win the fantastic papers, I'm sure we're all sitting with our fingers crossed until you make the draw. x

Hello Christine,
I've found your blog through Sandra, and I love the scrapbook page. It is so important to log your memories. How many of us have photographs of people we have no idea who they are, and the people who did know are no longer with us. Why, oh why didn't we ask when they were here?
Cherish your father, but I'm sure you do.
Love Maureen xx

Oh Christine, such a lovely picture of you and your dad, sometimes we forget about these photographs when making pages up of our children etc, the pages that include photographs of our parents and the relevant information that has been 'journaled' is of huge importance to our future grandchildren etc , so that they can get a grasp of the personality of their grandparents/ great grandparents and still feel like they were part of their lives ( a bit deep I know, but I think that journaling in scrapbooking is so important, capturing the mood and feel of what was happening when the photograph was taken)!
Thank you Christine for sharing your page and also for the chance of winning those fab pages!
Live and hugs
Sandra xxxx

it's a lovely page and Sandra is right. In fact today my daughter popped around scrounging (bless her) some picture hanging bits (they're brilliant, no nails, drills or husbands required) and said that she wants copies of the photos I have of my mum and husband's parents I have on display! I must scrap book more of the older generations.

Those pages look lovely and thank you for giving us the chance to win some
