Who stole the weekend?

Hello friends
Whoosh!
That's how fast the weekend went by - did it feel like that for you?
I am pleased to say I tackled one of my many lists of jobs to do.
It was the home list, clean oven (groan!), sort cupboards, organise papers etc -
those things you keep meaning to do but never quite get around to it.
I'm typing this blog post looking at a very tidy desk, I'm not sure it will last...

So what else??
Well, a big shout out for Carolyn H
the winner for the 500 follower status.
Haven't heard from you so hopefully you will see this post and drop me an email christine.emberson@blueyonder.co.uk
I have your prizes waiting for you.

During one of my sorting jobs as the weekend I became totally distracted by a pile of
scrapbook layouts and I discovered this one.  I cannot recall if I have already shared it with so I thought I would pop it on today's blog post.
It features that man of the moment...Elliott and a part of my face!
The background is created with some light misting, scattered Labels One,
a glittery sticker, dotty ribbon, silk flowers and layered buttons.
This is what I call a 'rummage' layout.  If I don't have too many matching papers
to hand, I rummage around to find toning papers, I use a neutral background and pick
out one strong colour in the photo - in this case the blue from Elliott's hoodie.
I then find embellishments in the blue to bring the whole page together.
My crafting journey started with scrapbooking and I still have a huge fondness for it.

I will be back soon - take care friends.

Morning Christine, Every day goes by at the 'speed of light' for me, although my hubby says his 'work days' go by very slowly, but his weekend flies ha ha.
I'm loving your layout, I keep saying I will start scrapbooking as it is a fantastic way to make a keepsake of photos, I will have to 'make time' one of these days.
Lots of love from Patricia xx

Morning Christine,
It was funny reading your blog this morning, only yesterday my hubby was saying where has the time gone, our first granddaughter will be 16 next year and it seems like yesterday that she only started at her little village school. I also remember my mum always saying the older she got the faster the years went, now I believe her.
Glad you got some jobs done and I love the photo of you and Elliot.

Hi Christine,
you are putting me to shame - cleaning cupboards - it's DEFINITELY on my list to do before Xmnas (if I get time) but no later than spring next year.
Hope all is going well with Elliot.
I'm panicking as too little time (which also whizzes by in an unnaturally fast manner) before Xmas to do all the things I need to do.
Hugs, Rose

Good Morning Christine. Join the club. I think the weeks are all passing far to quickly and for me time is running out as far as Christmas is concerned. Beautiful layout page too. Hugs Rita xxx

Hi Christine, I love the scrapbook page, and how you explain why you have put certain items together which makes the whole page so finished.
I have some beautiful scrapbooks waiting to be used so keep up with the teaching so I have the courage to have a go.

Great layout Christine, love the way you picked-out that bit of blue as a link.

My craft room looks like a bomb has hit it! I tidied it a couple of weeks ago so some friends could come around and 'play' but since then I've been on a Christmas Card Making Marathon (had to make 40 for my M-I-L as well as my own!) and there are WIP's all over every surface! So glad I can shut the door on it at night ;)

Hi Christine. Well done on all the cleaning you managed, especially the dreaded oven!
The page is lovely and I see what you mean about picking out the one colour.

Great layout Christine and a super photo - very on trend! Is it a 'Selfie'? Neutral colours are fantastic as backgrounds for a lovely strong colour. I know just what you mean about being distracted by the things we try to sort out. Magazines (craft of course) and photos are the worst culprits for me. My 'to do' list grows each day :(

Hi Christine

a lovely picture of you and Elliot. Such a cold and dank day today. I usually go and help at the school nearby helping 4 and 5 year olds to read. However, we had an Indian lady in today teaching them all Indian dancing, and I joined in until break time. and a fantastic time was had by all. She bought some Sari's in, and some of the girls dressed up.

Hi Christine, what a lovely picture of you both and thanks for the tips about how you put things together.
My craft room is not too bad at the moment, had a good clear out recently and kept it pretty much OK since then - but that can change...
I had a productive day yesterday too and made my Christmas cakes. Phew glad that marathon is out the way. Just have to feed them now until icing them. Had the grandchildren yesterday too and we crafted - started making their christmas card for Mummy and Daddy.
Take care Elizabeth x

Hi Christine - love the layout and tones of blue. As for time ..I thought it was just me thinking my time whizzed by because I'm in the autumn (or maybe winter) of my years.... but it must be the pace of life now sadly..... but I do love all the technology at our fingertips!!!
Hugs to all.
