A Super Day Out!

Hello friends
It was a Harry Potter dominated day yesterday.  As mentioned we headed off to
studios.  It is suggested that 3 hours is normally adequate to look around ...
we were there for 5!
If you are a fan it is incredible.  We hired the digital guide - it is an iPhone with audio,
videos, photos and more.  Along with the amazing sets, I didn't know what to look at first.
I took photos - over a 100!  It's okay, I'm not going to post them all but there is quite a few today!
(Apologies if you are not a Harry Potter fan!)
We had a little wait before we started the tour so we took a look in the gift shop -
Elliott checking to see what is inside the Sorting Hat.
Does it suit me?? Yes Gryffindor!
The Great Hall - where is all the food??
Here is some - chocolate bunnies.
Potions Classroom (every one of those bottles is labelled!)
No.4 Privet Drive.
Diagon Alley
Not your everyday supplies!
I did sneak into one photo...
The Bridge.
Wanted: Bellatrix Lestrange
(this is where Bella got her name - similar hair to be honest!)
The huge Hogwarts model - detail is amazing.
 Wand anyone??
Purchases of the day:
Elliott decided upon the Marauders Map.
A chocolate frog and
 Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans
(and yes, there is ear wax, dirt, earthworm along with sherbet lemon!)
I insisted he have a wand (I'm waving that furiously right now!)
After serious deliberation....
he chose Professor Snape's rather elegant black wand.
One of my favourite place in the books and films is The Burrow.
Here knitting gets done by magic...
It was such a great day, total escapism and fun.
I will be back soon...with craft!
Take care friends.

Hi Christine. I'm not a Harry Potter fan but your photos make me want to go and see all those fantastic things for myself. Having no grand children I'll have to borrow a child from somewhere or maybe Elliott would like to go again?

Hi Christine, what a great day out you two had. It looks amasing even to me,who like so many of your followers I have neither read nor watched any of the films maybe when my grandsons are a little older.
Nice little job for Elliott, making a scrapbook of the day out with all 100 photo's.

I am so pleased that you both had such a fantastic day out.
I am not a HP fan, but your photos make it very appealing, so perhaps one day I might go and see for myself I would have to watch some of the films first though.
Enjoy the memories both of you

Looks like you and Elliott had a fantastic day out, Christine! The sets look amazing - so much attention to detail! I would love the Burrow in my house...magic knitting, how cool would that be! Not sure about the all flavour jelly beans, mind - I know kids eat the most disgusting things, but ear wax and earthworms?! Mind you , my eldest and I dared each other to eat a dried mealworm...not the worst tasting thing in the world, but I shan't be having them for dinner any time soon! Lisa x

Hello dear friend,
I am so sorry to have been away so long and missed all your fab craft and the news too.
To me this sounds like the perfect day. I adore the Harry Potter books and films, though I prefer the books as they take the reader on a long intimate journey of the senses and imagination.
I am so pleased that you both had so much fun, I bet it lifted your spirits no end and has given you some stories to tell for a long time to come.

If I may I'd like to speak to Elliot.
Dearest Elliot I am sorry to be so tardy writing to you but I have been away from blogland for a long while. Nevertheless, I felt I should write to tell you that you are in my thoughts and I will pray for you and your family as you travel this difficult road.
If there is one thing that my illness has taught me it is this.... Take each day as it comes and remember whatever our health, good or bad, each and every day is a blessing. So enjoy every minute of everyday as I truly believe positive thinking is our own natural defense. (I was told after the surgery on my spine that the disease would put me in a wheelchair within 5 to 10years, well I am in year 13 and still walking..... and no crutches either!)
If you think about it, we're all living each day as it comes never knowing what's round the corner, so really nothing has changed has it. So precious one, carry on living, doing your best to greet each day with a smile and if any day becomes too hard share a bit of the burden with your mum or other loved one and carry on. You are blessed with a loving family, so use them and they will see you through this.
(sorry for the essay, I tend to talk a lot.. lol!)
Sending lots of love to you all.
Linda xx

I hope that Elliott is going to use that wand to ensue he has a speedy recovery and not to try and make Mitchell disappear ! Haha.
So pleased your day was so much fun, another fabulous memory made!!!
Love and hugs to you all
