Felt Box

Hello friends
Today it is festive triple heaven for me!  I've got my favourite box - Square Bracket Edge Box,
I've got my favourite Christmas die template - Layered Poinsettia and ...
it is all cut from my favourite felt!
I know I've mentioned many times the delight of using your dies with felt,
flowers work so well.  Occasionally I receive emails regarding what sort of felt -
to be honest save your pennies! I've found that if you purchase the sort of felt available in The Range,
(my local market stall), it's not too thick and it cuts beautifully.
You can reinforce the box by sliding in some cardstock panels but I found once it is assembled it will stand up and hold a couple of  chocolates for a table favour. (You keep the remainder of the chocolates hidden in the kitchen cupboard away from your family...!)
I know we are still only in October but I do get a bit carried away with the festive stuff...

This week Authentique paper has teamed up with Scrapbook Adhesives for a blog hop.
My project will be featured on Friday on the The Crafty Power Blog but I will feature
it here fully on Saturday.
Have a lovely day dear friends.

Hi Christine. What a delightful box. It would look lovely on the Christmas table with maybe the after dinner mints.
I have tried to work with felt but sadly with no success. Obviously not the right type.

Morning Christine

What a lovely little box, looks fabulous in the felt. I have some other brand poinsettias of course they are not as nice as the spellbinders but I used them to make napkin rings and I thought they would look lovely with a matching box. I used thick frosted acetate for the ring and hid the join with the poinsettia

Morning Christine - thats great as after trying loads of different felts i also found the 'range' one the best for die cutting. I've now got a pile of felt that doesn't die cut tho!!
This box is stunningly gorgeous, love the colours.

Hi Christine, Well you really got me hooked this afternoon both crafting and looking at the Authentique Blog spot and website.
Thanks to you and your little shop I've now got the bracket top box - yippee, so I've made a little replica of your felt one. May I say its turned out very well. I have made it using felt that has 30percent wool and its not buckled but I have cut out a square of cardboard and placed it in the bottom of the box to give it strength. Top does not need one.
Thank you for sharing this today.
Love the papers, look forward to seeing your samples.
Crafty best wishes, Carolyn x
