Friday Die Day

Hello friends

Blog is having a bit of a makeover today so do not be alarmed -
it's looking different but you've arrived at Friday Die Day!

I'm having a bit of a snowflake flurry!
Yesterday I featured this die set on a CAS card and today I'm featuring
it as Friday Die Day with a very different project.
Create A Flake Six

Four snowflakes to the set and the approximate measurements are:

Snowflake 1: 1¼”
Snowflake 2: 1¼ x 1½”
Snowflake 3: 1½ x 1¾”
Snowflake 4: 3 x 3⅜”
This is how they look cut/embossed.
I chose to cut two of each snowflake (omitted the roundish one).
Adhered them together to make them thicker and then arranged them onto a piece of white.
I positioned some of them off the edge of the paper.
I then decided to get a little bit messy!
Applied some texture paste.
Once dry I applied a layer of white paint.
Then adding colour - these are the Donna Salazar Pigment Powders.
I kept rubbing various colours over the snowflakes and background until I was
happy with the result.
Added some metal snowflakes, ribbon and twine.
Attached the panel to the front of a notebook.
The finished project.
A close up pic.
Very different to my normal projects but I enjoyed getting a little bit messy!
Also shows the wonderful versatility of Create A Flake Six.
Take care friends -
wishing you all a wonderful weekend and hopefully the sun will return...
been a bit damp and grey in the South East.

Good morning Christine
Wow what a difference from yesterday's card. It just goes to show how versatile dies can be. This is a lovely set of snowflakes and would combine with the other create a flakes that Spellbinder's have made.
Enjoy your day. I am hiding at home from the deluge outside. We are promised a month's rain in one day - joy!!

Can't believe it's Friday already and then I thought my computer was playing up, but relieved to read that the changes are due to a makeover! Wow, you've gone all mixed media on us - to great effect I must say (not had the courage myself yet). This makes a fab notebook cover.

Lovely set of dies I will be playing with my purchase over the week end Silly question - is the powder rubbed over wet paint? Whatever you've done is very effective
