Mini Break - Part 2!

Hello friends

Home from a lovely long weekend away and we were unbelievably lucky
with the weather.   Just one tiny downpour and the rest of the time brilliant sunshine.
I am completely in love with the Lake District, like many visitors I am charmed by its
rolling fields, the drystone walls and the feeling of general calm.
The lakes of course are stunning.
We did make a stop in Grasmere, thank you for your advice Michele -
the gingerbread is delicious.
On our return journey we stopped in Chester for a few hours, this is my second visit but
I was still wowed by the architecture.
So all in all a brilliant time.
I'm now rested to craft like mad - watch this space!
Take care friends.

Morning Christine
I am glad the North West welcomed you both with sunshine. The Lakes are stunning whatever the weather but in the sunshine they take your breathe away.
Glad you enjoyed Chester - did you indulge in a little retail therapy too? Shopping in Chester is amazing.
Enjoy your day crafting

Hi Christine,
Glad you and Elliott are home safely and enjoyed your mini break, it is tipping it down here this morning, so a crafty day for me I think as I don't have to work today.
Have a good week, I bet you have loads of planning to do.

So glad your break was enjoyable, was hoping the weather stayed fine for you. Very glad you like Grasmere gingerbread-quite addictive, pop a piece in the microwave for 10 seconds-much nicer!!

Michele.

Hello Christine
So pleased the weather stayed nice for you both!
I have never been to the Lake District.... but it always reminds me of Swallows and Amazons, Beatrix Potter books and of course Calender Girls, such a beautiful calm place.
Take care

Good morning Christine & Elliott,
I am so pleased you had a lovely time, it looks amazing in the pictures. Most of all I am glad you both got to relax and enjoy so quality time together! So important to take time out to unwind. With all that has been going on in your mind Christine I am surprised you didn't sleep for three days.
I look forward to seeing the results of you 'mad' crafting session!

After my first visit, delayed a couple of days because we were both recovering from a bad dose of flue, I've always said that the Lake District is food for the soul. That first time, it had been so dry, that the lake levels were lower than usual, and we saw some lakeside trees standing on 'tip toe' because their roots were exposed by about 18 inches. That year, some of the lakes had something akin to beaches!

Hi Christine, So glad you both enjoyed your break away in the Lakes and that the weather was kind to you.
Fabulous piccies, and I agree that the buildings in Chester are fabulous, as are Shrewsbury and Ludlow, I absolutely adore the black and white buildings and my mind wanders back in time, the history is brilliant !!
Lots of love from Patricia xx
