Time to open another door...

Hello friends

Today featuring another project using Edwardian Door.
I love this die!
If I get myself organised I'm thinking this would be great die to use
for my Christmas cards, a red door and perhaps with Holly Wreath on the front.
Okay..I'm digressing - back to today's card!
I created the background using strips of cardstock edged in white ink,
overlaid to look like weatherboard.
(Exactly the same technique I used for my birdhouse project here).
I then cut/embossed Edwardian Door from white cardstock and inserted some
patterned vellum behind the window section.  A brass brad makes the door handle.
The plant pot outside is one of the herb pots - Sage is available here.

Great as a New Home, Welcome Home or even Congratulations on your New Job card!

As promised, announcing the winner of last Sunday's Giveaway -
a kit to create both the card and gift box below.

Thank you for all the comments -
Elliott had the responsibility of picking out a winner and he chose to be impartial
and use a number generator on his phone.

The winner is......

Toni

Lovely project as always Christine. I have this box die and it's one of my favorites too. I'm doing a charity craft session this week and we are also going to be making a matching gift box and card but mine will be an origami box.
Matching items always look lovely I think
Take care and thank you for the chance to win one of your lovely projects.
Toni xx

Congratulations Toni - please email hope-chances@live.co.uk
with your address details and the kit will wing its way to you straight away.

Diane's crafty space was featured yesterday and she mentioned a really useful way
of keeping track of what dies she owns, it is an app called Snupps.
It enables you to photograph them and place them on a virtual shelf
so you can access them when you are out and about shopping etc.
It's not just for cataloguing dies but anything of value in your life but I
think dies rank pretty highly!

Look out for August's Charity Kit - it's nearly ready to roll!

Take care friends.

I did a card exactly as you described a few years ago at Christmas using my cutter that I had at the time. Sadly that dies and has long since been replaced.
I use the snupps app for cataloging all my dies as I found I was starting to buy duplicate sets because I had forgotten I had them already! Senior moments! I have found it is also for recording all my stamps as well as you can add tag search words. When stamps come in sets there are often times when I remember that I have a certain flower stamp, for example, but I can't remember which set it is in. Now I just search the app and it tells me what folder it is stored in....simple!

Hi Christine
It's dark and damp one here this morning, not very Summery!
Fabulous card today, am loving the door die and really like the washboard effect you've made.
Many thanks Diane for the correct link, I think this could be a very useful way of keeping tabs on what dies/stamps and embossing folders I have too!
Congrats to Toni, and enjoy your Sunday.

Hi Christine
I love what you've done with the door die. I didn't know that this one even existed, so thanks for featuring it. I also looked back and saw the pierced circles. I did see the pierced dies a couple of days ago on a website and thought how good they were. It was nice to see how they looked when they were die cut. These will go on my wish list.

Hi Christine, Congratulations to Toni, enjoy your goodies.
I, also, like the idea of this door on a Christmas card with a wreath on it.
I thought what a fantastic idea with the App for recording and photographing what you have !! then I started to worry about how secure it would be !! It would be ideal for me because I have duplicated both dies and stamps on numerous occasions.
Lots of love from Patricia xx
