Tuesday Tip/Technique

Hello friends

It's time for a Tuesday Tip/Technique (that's TTTT!)
Today's idea/reminder is using your dies as stencils but on other surfaces -
how about wood?

I've selected a wooden box and lightly painted it. I then inked and stamped the lid with a script stamp.
I placed the Rose Creations die templates directly onto the surface and stencilled
through with distress inks
It creates a nice subtle pattern and by mixing the distress ink colours it adds tones.
The flower is also Rose Creations, cut from vellum and sprayed with glimmer mist.
This technique works brilliantly on smooth surfaces so MDF is perfect.
After quite a few requests, I've finally got a stock of thin MDF hearts on the website -
all the details are here.

Take care friends - I'm back tomorrow.

Hi Christine,
Another TTTT, your box is beautiful, I must have a go at that, did you use ordinary emulsion? I haven't used my rose creations for a while, but have just ordered the Sunflower from you, can't wait for it to arrive.

Hi Christine, what a lovely tip. Thanks for reminding us that we can do so much more with our dies than just cutting with them. Sorry for the silence of late but I have been away. Hope you and the boys are OK.

Beautiful box Christine, I am still pondering on how to decorate my kit of the box on the right of your blog. I have some ideas, but still dithering.

Morning Christine, A fabulous TTTT, gorgeous box, and love everything you have done to it. I haven't used my Rose Creations for a while, I must get them out again, you tend to forget what you have (or at least I do haha !!).
Lots of love from Patricia xx
