Urban Knit Bombing!

Hello friends
Yes Urban Knit Bombing...what is it you ask?
Well it has been taking place in Gravesend just down the road from the shop and
it is knitting and crochet graffiti!  This sign explains a little more....

And this is some of their work tied to the railings by the river.
Lots and lots of flowers!
Trees are not missed out...
Looking up the road - so colourful!
And this is virtually outside the shop, tied to the gate posts.
And knitted bunting on the Heritage Quarter gates.
I love it and I think all towns should take part.
What I also love is that it has remained intact for days -
no-one is disturbing or removing it - everyone enjoys something pretty!

Enjoy your day - I'm busy making scrapbook pages.
Take care friends.

Hi Christine, what a lovely idea, it would be nice if other places did this, everything needs brightening up sometimes.

We have regular "attacks" in our nearest town Sherborne, decorated lamp posts, band stands the lot, it always looks fantastic and the time it must take these dedicated peeps to set up really demonstrates a labour of love!!

Morning Christine, This is a fabulous idea, so colourful and will induce smiles from everyone around. So much work must go into the making of these and then all the work involved in doing the 'decorating', is it true that they do it during the night so no-one sees them !! Let's hope it doesn't rain and ruin them.
Lots of love from Patricia xx

I think the urban knotting is a great idea. We had some flowers decorating a huge metalwork golf ball but some misery took them off!

Hi Christine. How fantastic, I love it. It certainly brightens up sometimes duller areas and will make people smile which is always a good thing. It would be good to see it all over the country. Can you add something, or is it a finished project? Enjoy scrapbooking today: ) Take care.

Whatever next? Quite attractive though and a whole lot nicer than other graffiti! Enjoy your scrapping today. Did I miss the winners of those fab envelopes? Can't think how as I check in every day.

What a great way to brighten up the streets. However, I think I read somewhere that the knitters in Masham had to remove their bunting because the weight of the wet knitting was bending the lamp posts! Anne x
