Way back at the beginning...there were jars!

Hello friends

A 'throwback Thursday' project today.
A few years ago I had a 'jar phase' and pretty much squirrelled away every type of jar
I could find and then decorated them!
This one once held fruit in liqueur - jolly nice!

To decorate the jar I used a combination of four die templates,
Spiral Blossoms Two, Eyelet Circles, Foliage and Labels Twenty.
I created a label area on the front so it could be named for someone special!
It has yet to leave the house....
I still keep jars (I can't help myself)
even down to the little mint sauce ones as they make nice gifts too.
Fill them with favourite sweets, pop in a gift certificate, lottery ticket -
they are fairly quick to do and go perfectly with a card.

Learn to Crochet with Ruby is booking up, just a few places left if you
are thinking of coming along.
I keep looking on Pinterest now at all the wonderful crochet projects...love this!
Take care friends and stop by tomorrow for ....you know what!

Lovely jar-I knew there was a reason I have hoarded so many jars! They've just been waiting to be decorated.

Pretty jars, they would be a lovely way to 'wrap' a present, never thought of doing that before. I think crochet was the first craft I learnt as a child and I was sad when it went out of fashion. So pleased its now back in and patterns are being brought up to date. JuliaT x

Good Morning Christine,
I used to laugh at my mother in law and her mum, who were both guilty of collecting, jars, bottle tops, marge tubs, you name it they kept it! Then recently as I was sorting my craft room it dawned on my as I looked around that all my buttons, feathers, little sponges etc were all in Jars, jam jars, mint sauce jars, curry sauce jars, I loved the shape of the 'Dijon mustard jars' they were every where, and then there were the tubs, big bucket like tubs that Greek yoghurt comes in, ice cream tubs, margarine tubs, oh my goodness I can't live with out them!
I remember today's project from first time round. Loved it then and love it even more now! And the new edition!
I had never thought of using them as gift packaging!
Your Genius shows itself once more Christine!
Can't wait for FDD tomorrow, ooh wonder what it will be?
See you tomorrow,
Hugs

Morning Christine, lovely idea to upcycle the jars, they do make lovely gifts. The crochet blanket is beautiful...inspires me to get out my crochet hooks again. I can do granny squares and have made a crochet elephant, but have not tackled anything for myself. Have a good sunny day. Janice xx

Hi Christine, Love those jars, I remember when you first did them. I love collecting the little mini Jam jars, I paint the lids before decorating, then apply labels and fill with little gems or embellishments for my craft room.

Hi Christine. I love your jars, I am guilty of collecting them but haven't yet decorated any to this extent. Haven't thought of putting a lottery ticket or gift token in one.
Thanks Christine, I will round them all up and start thinking about decorating some for Christmas presents.
The blanket is gorgeous isn't it!
Take care.
