Heatwave!

Hello friends
Are you melting?
The shop is normally quite cool but yesterday for Knit and Natter
it was a tad warm.  Gravesend is often quoted as being a bit of a hot spot and
I couldn't agree more yesterday.
This is Gravesend Pier with a cloudless blue sky.
Thank you to all those that came along to Knit and Natter and
especially to Maggie and her friend who travelled all the way from York!!
They delivered a parcel full of knitted squares and stayed to enjoy tea and cake.
Elliott was chief tea/coffee maker yesterday and did a fine job.

Today, as mentioned, I'm driving to Peterborough to the Create and Craft studios
to meet up with Kim Hupke from Spellbinders.
She has been working so hard doing all the Pick of the Week shows
featuring Christmas dies (some new and some from previous years).

One of my favourite Christmas dies is Layered Poinsettia (you may already know that!)
I thought it would be nice to revisit one of my projects using these gorgeous festive flowers.

A card with Layered Poinsettia cut from patterned flower and sprayed with
some red glimmer mist.
Labels Twenty Two has been used for a tag stamped with a sentiment
in the top corner.
I stitched around the edge of the card, something I haven't done for a while...
I must do that again!

Take care friends and I will be sure to tell you all about my trip.

Morning Christine, Lovely piccies of the pier and also your card. I especially love the poinsettia die, and use it all the time, it is one of my favourite dies ever !!
I hope you have a lovely meal and get-together with Kim.
We had rain during the evening and night last night, so it is lovely and fresh outside now (typical it had to wait until I had watered the garden haha !!).
Enjoy your day with Kim.
Lots of love from Patricia xx

A lovely card, another die to add to
my wish list! I've noticed Gravesend is often the warmest place on weather reports, a little cooler today. Haven't been watching c&c but will be trying to catch some of the offers now.
Glad knit and natter went well.

Hi Christine. I am glad to hear that Knit and Natter went well, even if it was rather warm! Love the pic of the pier and that beautiful blue sky. There were a lot of layers of clouds over us yesterday evening and there were so many different types, is was lovely looking at them all, especially as there was a little breeze too : )
My Layered Poinsettia is still my all time favourite die, I use it all year in different ways. I love your card using it. Stitching on cards is great, I don't do it enough because it is a bit of a pain to have to get my sewing machine out. I am wondering if it would be worth getting one of those little hand held ones, that only do straight stitch, to keep with my craft stash? Do you know if they are any good?
Have a safe journey up to Peterborough and enjoy your meal with Kim. Take care.

Good Morning Christine
Love the Poinsettia Die too!
During the year I try to make some to add to cards and keep them in a box, ready for use.
It is hot and my lawns are dead, but blooming weeds aren't... nor the hedges, but too hot for manual work.lol
Have a lovely time with Kim !
Take care
Love Marg

Hello Christine. Wonderful poinsettia die and used so often for my Christmas cards. Have a lovely day in Peterborough, I can assure you it won't be nearly as hot and sunny as we're rather dull in this neck of East Anglia at the moment. xxMargaretxx

Hi Christine it was lovely to meet you, Elliot and your mum yesterday. Kath and I had a lovely day and you and the other ladies made us very welcome. We had lunch by the river which was very nice. The journey from KX to York was a bit of a nightmare and we were very tired at the end of the journey but it was an enjoyable adventure for 2 old ladies. Lovely blog post as usual Maggie J x

Hello Christine
Gravesend looks beautiful in the sunshine. The poinsettia die is one of my favourites too and is used or nearly all my Christmas projects.
I hope you have a lovely day out today.

Lovely project. There are so many ways to get a different look with the Poinsettia dies and they always look fantastic. They don't even need to be poinsettias! Hope you enjoy your meet-up with Kim she's been doing a great job on C&C.

Hi Christine, I'm catching up this morning - I totally ignored both my computer and iPad ALL all day yesterday as it was so lovely! The layered poinsettia has always been my favourite Christmas die - others have tried but none have quite beaten this one! Love your card and hope you enjoyed lunch! Hugs Carole Z X
