Tea Towel Transformation!

Hello friends
Something a little different today... a tea towel transformed!
Admittedly it is a very pretty tea towel from Ikea.
The tea towels come in a pack of two from Ikea and are called EVALILL - the details are here.
(I love the Ikea names for things - Mitchell has a chair called JEFF!)

Anyway, I espied these tea towels on one of my shopping trips some months ago
and thought they were way too nice to wipe the dishes.
I chose to make them into a cosmetic bag/iPad case.
The little loop already in place works brilliantly to secure it shut with a button -
in fact I glued one button on top of another to make sure it was thick enough.
The pièce de résistance in my opinion, is the decoration including that butterfly.
I've used Spiral Blossoms Four and Les Papillions - all die cut from felt.
To create the pink and white flower just cut the flower twice and roll the colours together.
Stop by tomorrow - I should have the full printed instructions plus a further item I made that complements this one...

Big thanks for all your kind words yesterday and especially to Gemma who gave
some brilliant advice regarding Bella's ear medicine - really useful, thank you.

Take care friends.

Morning Christine. How different. I especially like the two-tone felt flower. Such a good idea because felt can sometimes look flat in one colour, no variation in tone like paper. Will keep a look out for further instructions. Glad yesterday's post was of help and hope Bella's ear is improving. Also say 'Hi' to Elliott and Mitchell and hope they too are progressing well. Try and have an easy weekend..it's supposed to be warmer so cream teas in the garden for all three of you! Take care. Gemma xx

I forget that these dies can cut felt, so thanks for the reminder. Shame the only Ikea in the country is in Dublin, and I'm on the west coast. I'll have to think of an alternative, as I love the idea.

Morning Christine
When is a tea towel not a tea towel - when Christine gets her butterflies on it. This is a brilliant idea.
Hope everyone is feeling better today.

What a fab little project, Christine! Will definitely have to try this one! I have a nice, if somewhat boring, green tablet case which is now crying out to be decorated!
Hope your three patients are getting better! Thanks for sharing! Hugs, Lisa x

Hello my dear friend,
I hope you are coping with all your nursing duties!
I absolutely love the tea towel project today, you are right ghe are far too pretty to wipe the dishes with!
I love ikea, but I could spend far too much money each time we visit, I think our nearest one is Bristol, you should have block bought them and sold them on to us as a project!
I truly hope you are hanging in there, you are always in my thoughts !
Hugs as always,
Sandra ( Riley ) xxxxxx

Hello Christine, what another lovely project from you today. I too can feel a visit to Ikea happening in the near future. A great gift idea. as well.
Hope the patients are recovering nicely and that their very dedicated nurse isn't too exhausted from all of her duties.
Have a good weekend and try and chill a little if that's possible.

You're right...definitely too pretty for drying dishes!! Hope all your patients are doing nicely. I like your idea of a fundraiser for the house. I've worked in several childrens hospitals so I know just how vital these home from homes are.
