Friday Die Day

Hello friends

Friday Die Day is here and this week I'm featuring one of the beautiful dies from the
Victorian Collection - Victorian Medallion One.
The set consists of 3 dies:
Accent: 1½ x 1⅜”
Inset: 3⅞ x 4⅜”
Border: 4 x 4½”

This is how the complete set looks cut/embossed.
This Friday's project is a gift card/money wallet.
Select an envelope that has a flap with a straight edge.
Fold down the middle and then apply adhesive as shown.
Seal the flap closed and you will see it has created a pocket on either side.
Next, I've taken my die cut and folded it in half.
I've placed it over the folded edge of my money wallet and stuck it down.
Next, wrapped around a little twine and a Back to Basics Tag with a stamped sentiment.
The wallet can be used for cash too or perhaps both!
The finished project, added a tiny flower and foliage for a finishing touch.
Some close up pics.
The boys are hoping to receive one of these...not empty mind!
Victorian Medallion One is available here (on special offer!)
It reminds me of a large snowflake and the fall out from the edge next to the middle section
looks like a bird in flight...it does honest, take a look!

Take care friends and have a brilliant weekend, I'm still shopping!

Good Morning Christine,
What a great idea, that gorgeous die also looks like the collar and sleeves of a Lacey Victorian dress/blouse, I do see the bird in flight! Did you keep those bits to add somewhere else?!
I find I am keeping everything as I get older, jars, empty food trays, you name it, I find i am hovering over the recycle bin trying to think of a use for rubbish! Tell me it's a phase and I won't end up like a hoarder with a sea of junk laying round the house!
Crafty hugs to you all,
Sandra xxxxxx

Hi Christine. What a gorgeous gift card wallet. So simple to make, but so useful, I love it. Yes, I can see the bird too : ) I have yet to start my shopping, I have only got a few little bits and bobs so far, I really must get going. Sandra, yet another thing we have in common, we will have to do a deal and tell each other if we think our saving jars etc to reuse is getting out of hand : )) Have a good day. Take care.

Great project today & I also am starting to keep jars etc. I rescued a box the christmas cards came in as it was far too good to throw away. Any wonder you can't move in my craft room now??!!!

Hello Christine, it is so much better and thoughtful to give money/gift card in a hand made wallet. The die looks great.

Hi Christine. Lovely die and a brilliant, simple project to present a cash gift. I could definitely see myself making a few of these to put by. I'm still shopping too! Have a fruitful weekend.
A quick HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Patricia (we don't know each other, but I noted from a recent comment on this blog that we share a birthday)

Lovely idea Christine which I am going to copy three times this week-end! I can in fact see seven birds (times 3 equals a sky full of birds migrating somewhere warm!)Luv Halina21

Hi Christine
This is a lovely die and one I will be adding to my wish list.
I like the idea of using an envelope to create a money wallet. Last year I made them with card but struggled to get the money in. This looks a lot easier and no measuring which is brilliant.
Take care
Lesley
