A Crafty Tuesday Tip/Technique

Hello friends

It is Tuesday and I thought perhaps I would go for another tip/technique.
You may have come across this technique before, if so it is a reminder
or it could be completely new....reverse stencilling.
Take a die and an ink pad - I've chosen the very classic Labels One.
Completely cover the cutting side of your die with ink.
Do not worry, it wipes off later with a baby wipe.
Slide the inked die template onto the blue base plate, pop a piece of card on top, cut/emboss.
Not only do you have an inked surround but also the edge of your die cut is border inked.

This looks particularly effective with flowers.
An inked Blooms Three.
And how it looks cut/embossed.
It certainly gives you another very effective option with your dies - give it a try...
At Saturday's Knit and Natter we had a little raffle for a
baby blanket.  Delighted to announce the winning ticket is....

Congratulations Brenda from East Malling - your prize is on its way.

Back in the shop today, Elliott is keeping me company -
I'm thinking he should do the dusting!

Take care friends.

Good morning Christine, thanks for the great tip. I always add ink whilst the card is still in the die but I have never tried doing it this way.
Poor Elliott - dusting is one of my pet hates. I always try not to disturb it!
Enjoy your day

Great tip! I love the inked edges, but would be particularly good when cutting flowers...will give this one a go for sure.

Hi Christine. What a great technique and one I haven't tried before. Hope you both have a good day at the shop ~ get the dusting done first Elliott, then it's over and done with (spoken from the heart of one who doesn't like dusting!)Hugs,
Maggie x

Hi Christine. Thanks for the great tip. I have never inked the die before, I will now : ) I'm sure Elliott will be delighted to do the dusting....not! It is one of those jobs that just has to be done though, doesn't it. Remind him that you could have asked him to clean the loo instead : ) Have a good day together. Take care.

What a fab idea-not tried this before. I'd do the dusting if I could work in your shop (or any craft shop) but i'd probably spend more than I earned!!

Morning Christine,
Great tip will give it a try. Poor Elliot, mind you I would rather do the dusting than ironing, my real pet hate.
Enjoy your day in the shop both of you.

Good Morning Christine and Elliott,
What a great Tuesday Tip, it's like making your own border stamps!
Knowing what a gorgeous, well mannered lad Elliott is I am sure he will be fine about flicking the feather duster about! Although when I think about it there are quite a few things to dust around, poor Elliott. How is his sleeping now, any easier? Lack of sleep makes you so washed out.
Has he tried listening to an Audio Book, a sometimes that helps as it clears your head of any worries!
Sending huge hugs to you both,
Sandra xxx

Hi Christine, I remember this tip from when I attended one of your classes in your old premises. A great tip that I do use, but not that often as I forget to try it out on new dies. Will try and remember to do it again soon. Janice x

Hello Christine. What a clever tip that is - why didn't I think of it. Must give it a go. I don't think Elliott should do the dusting, not nearly creative enough for him! Have a great day. xxMargaretxx

Thanks for the tip I've never tried it that way, good luck with the dusting Elliot ;) x

What a fantastic tip. I've never seen this technique before and would never have thought of it. An edged aperture AND die-cut best two-for-one I've seen in a while! Sympathy for Elliott - dusting makes me sneeze - it's best left where it lies!

Hi Christine
Thanks for the great tip and for my tool in one which the postman delivered this morning.
Would love to play with one and try the other but today my 6 week old grand calibur broke and has to be returned to supplier.
Could this be a quality control problem as I see from the internet broken caliburs are a common problem. As you are on the design team perhaps it is something you could raise.
Thanks for all you tips, my day starts with your blog and often evenings find me trying to imitate your cards
Love

Should have said this is my second calibur. The other one broke after 18 months. I sent it to the address supplied by spellbinders but it was not possible to get it repaired
