Let's go Spring..y!

Hello friends

I'm pretending it is not cold and wet outside and instead it is bright

and 'Spring..y!' 

Today I'm sharing a card with you using two of the new D-Lites

that are available to pre-order.

Picket Fence and Lady Bug Garden.

I selected a kraft card base and mat.

Die cut Picket Fence with kraft card and inked the edges,

mounted with foam pads.

Stamped a sentiment and then positioned the tulips,

cut twice so that I had green stems and coloured heads. 

Added the ladybird, it is a unique species in that it has white spots as

opposed to black!  

(Only after I made the card I thought...ok they should have black spots!)

My card only uses a few of the dies from the Lady Bug Garden set,

lots of Springness with the larger flower, leaf, toadstool and walking ladybird.

Friday Die Day

Hello friends

 

For Friday Die Day this week I'm featuring one of the dies

that is being launched right now at Creativation (formerly CHA) in the States.

This is Corner Floral designed by Sharyn Sowell for Spellbinders.

 

 

Floral Corner is a set of six dies, the main flower, two leaf accents and

three outline dies.

 

The approximate measurements are:

 

Leaves: 0.70 x 1.20 in. 1.80 x 3.00 cm

Flower: 2.30 x 1.75 in. 5.80 x 4.40 cm

 

For my card design I've chosen to use the main flower and leaf accents

without the outline dies, positioned and held in place with

removable tape, this will just cut the detail into my card front..

 

Once cut, I stamped a sentiment.

 

Prepared my card base simply with a square of patterned paper.

 

Using Crafty Foam Tape I affixed my card front,

it definitely looks more effective to have the dimension.

 

The finished card with the addition of gemstones.

Very clean and simple!

I also used the same die to cut into the envelope flap and place matching

patterned paper behind and left it a little bigger to create a border around the flap.

I have a pre-loved set of Mosaic Vine.

You can't go wrong with foliage in your crafty stash, always useful.

I recently featured this die as Friday Die Day.

The cut out detail in the leaves is delicate and pretty.

On the home front - Darcy cat is progressing well, 

it's tricky keeping her indoors with Bella and our other cats needing

to go in and out, I've become a very swift doorman! 

A photo without her 'cone of shame', she cannot take it off permanently 

but I keep giving her little breaks from it with lots of fuss.

Build a Camper

Hello friends

Today's project features one of the new Die D-Lites,

Build a Camper.

With the torrential rain we've been having camping may not 

be on your mind but nice to think ahead to sunny days,

in fact it is just 44 days until Spring.

Build a Camper has six dies - the camper-van, door, wheel,
towing bar and little curtain.

I chose to cut the van twice, pretty paper and silver foil card.  

I sliced this die cut in half so my camper van

would have a shiny bottom section!

It was then easy to assemble, black card base, patterned paper mat

and white card.  I think it turned out cute!

With the addition of flowers my camper van is very feminine but you could 

of course make it masculine with bold bright colours.

Monday...already?

Hello friends

Just stopping by to wish you all a good start to the week.

As mentioned, it's all gone a little awry in the Emberson household

with poorly cat and winter snuffles but we are nearly back on track.

Elliott returns to Uni today and I'm hitting the cabin very soon.

I'm working on projects that I will be demoing at the trade show,

Stitches in Birmingham next month and I will be sharing

them with you too.

In between more pre-orders have been uploaded to the website

(oh yes, I made Elliott work while he was on Uni break!)

This collection is Flower Garden by Sharyn Sowell for Spellbinders.

She is the lady that does marvelous paper cutting

and kindly did this one of Bella.

I've now got it framed in my cabin.

I'm already in love with her designs and especially Bird on the Cherry Branch.
