Deviating...

Hello friends

How is your weekend going?
I must say mine isn't quite going to plan but life is like that sometimes!
I was due to have my bathroom roof fixed yesterday, lifting a few
tiles, replacing the felt and hey pretso done.  But that didn't quite happen,
turns out the roof was really bad so it all had to be replaced.
So as my parents used to say 'it's bread and dripping for a while'!
(Does anyone else say that?)

Today's post is very different for me,
it's a mixed media tag created at the retreat I attended recently.
I'm really noticing that mixed media is taking off again
here in the UK, is it your cup of tea?

To be fair mine isn't very mixed media, by other peoples'
standards I'm still keeping it relatively 'clean' but I did dabble
with stencils, pastes, paint and clay - that gold embellishment
was moulded and then gilded - I was craving gloves though! :)

The flowers are fussy cut but I would personally like die cut
ones on there for more dimension.
So its a work in progress aka I'll finish it possibly 2025!

Look out for an email today and on social media,
Mitchell is planning a website offer.

Enjoy your Sunday, it's rain in Kent today but very humid,
I have to keep reminding myself it is October!

Take care friends.

It's good to try something outside your comfort zone sometimes though. It's a lovely idea for your tag xx

Oh no regarding your roof, but at least once done you know it will all be sound for many years to come. Lol bread and dripping reminds me of my mum. Gorgeous tag Christine, loving the mixed media vibe. Had the email and been shopping oops. Raining here today too, a good excuse to craft. Hope you have a good day xx hazel

That tag is beautiful - and I'm sure right now you need to be engrosses in your crafting to take your mind off the roof! I love the look of mixed media but really struggle with it myself as I never seem to have a clear image of where I'm heading and what I'm hoping to achieve.

Hi All.
So sorry to read about your roof, at least now you are all set for winter.
A lovely tag too, although I am not into mixed media.
Take care and have fun, it is still raining here Kitty.

Hi Christine, You do make me chuckle with your write-up haha, I haven't tried mixed media yet, but I love what you have done here, and I've watched lots of mixed media videos and I am definitely going to have a try, I've been watching Leonie sharing here mixed media demo's and I am in love with all Jane Davenport's goodies, I want them all haha.
I hope you get your roof sorted quickly, and yes we have that 'saying' up here in the North West too.
Lots of love from Patricia xx

Hi Christine

Oh poor you with the roof problems we had that last year so really feel for you.

My Mum used to say that to us think it is a northern saying.

I love your tag its gorgeous like you I struggle with "messy" but I am trying to use some

of the many metal bits and bobs I have collected possible with some tags for Christmas cards

As you say I like die cut flowers for dimension but your fussy cut flowers are lovely very

neat and they do add a delicate touch.

Luv n hugs Annxx
