News and Silver!

Hello friends
Apologies no blog post yesterday - I was very busy sending
out the Charity Kit - if you have ordered then your kit is on its way
(probably delivered by a soggy postman!)
I do still have some left and very soon I will be posting instructions
on how to decorate with the patterned paper.
I also thought it would be useful to have the construction instructions to hand
so I've posted a link to those on the sidebar of my blog.

I did manage to find a few minutes yesterday to make this...
This is created using the medium Pom Pom Maker (due in stock very very soon!)
Twig from my very windswept garden and felt leaves from Rose Creations.
Yes - still addicted to pom poms!

Continuing with my plan of bringing in a variety of crafts to
Hope and Chances, I am delighted to offer a Silver Clay Taster Workshop.
The extremely talented Sara Wordley also known as The Skiving Scholar
has offered to along with everything you need (including kiln!)
to create a stunning piece of silver jewellery.
Here is just a sample of pendants and earrings.
It is a class for beginners and you will learn:-

How to handle and store the clay
How to roll it out to a consistent thickness
How to texture the clay and cut it into shapes
Methods of refining the dry pieces
How to fire your pieces using a small butane torch, gas hob and kiln
How to polish and finish your pieces.

You will leave the class with a piece of jewellery of your own design that
once fired is 99.9% real fine silver.

All materials are included, tea/coffee and homemade cake too - just bring your ideas :)
The price of the class would be £48.00.

I am putting the suggestion out there today to see what we all think and
then date(s) can be arranged.  Personally I love the little flower pendant
but perhaps thinking bird or butterfly....

Take care friends - remember to stop by tomorrow!

Hello Christine
I love the pom-pom, great idea re the silver clay workshop.
It was wild here yesterday and the wind and rain has broken my fencing panels which I now have to replace to keep my dog safe in the garden. I just wish it would stop raining for more than one day. Stay safe everyone, luckily I'm not near a river or the sea and have power, hugs to anyone affected badly x

Hi Christine. Love the pom pom apple, what a sweet idea. Wish I lived nearer so that I could join your classes. I have never heard of silver clay, sounds like a wonderful class. It is sunny here at the moment, my thoughts are with all that are having problems because of the awful weather. Take care.

Hi Christine, definitely missed you yesterday, but the weather was so ghastly it was best to stay in crafting (any excuse) even if you were just packing and despatching! What a sweet little apple pom-pom I love it. At least you had a few minutes for crafting.
