Last Day and Tool n' One!

Hello friends

Today is the day - the final day of treatment - hurrah, yippee,
we are waving flags and celebrating!!
Weather permitting I will take a photo as Elliott leaves the hospital today.
He really has come a long way since his brain surgery last May.
Following his operation he wasn't allowed to rest too much,
I got him working on Charity Kits pretty quickly...!!
We began to raise money for the fantastic organisations that have helped us.
We held a charity event....
and the monies from a huge raffle, kits and more amounted to...
Elliott had his name engraved on a leaf then a bird at Ronald McDonald House, Camberwell.
So much happened in a short time.
His journey has been helped enormously by so many wonderful kind and generous people.
Gifts from the Crafting Fairies organised by the very special Teresa Horner and
extra thanks to Anne Riley Davies for putting together Elliott's daily radiotherapy gifts,
they have been such a help and boost to him.
The ideas for fund raising will continue.. there will be more kits and
the knitted squares!  They are still arriving and are so lovely.
As we celebrate today we know we still have further hurdles to overcome, sadly Elliott's
condition is one that has to be monitored very closely and can change quickly.
But we take each day at a time and today is time to be very happy.

It does remain for me to say thank you again to each and every one of you - this time I'm
going for a Shakespeare quote, he's pretty nifty with words! (Twelfth Night).

And now to something clever and crafty!
A new tool - this is the Spellbinders®  Tool n' One.
Designed by Cindy Echtinaw who has also designed the Card Creator dies for Spellbinders.
It is a pokey tool one end but the other end is a gadget for removing paper from your dies
and it also comes with a little spatula tool.
It has a unique storage system in that attachments can be housed within
the main body of the tool.  Clever stuff!
There is a You Tube video that Cindy has put together -
the link is here - I tried to upload it but Blogger wasn't being very nice!

I'm making enquiries to get these as quickly as possible, we all spend a fair amount of time
poking the paper pieces out of the dies so this is going to be incredibly useful!
I will keep you posted on news regarding stocking this tool and pre-ordering details.
I am also looking into the special foam that is featured in the video.
I hope to bring you my own little video demonstrating it (keeping Elliott busy for sure!)

Take care friends and check your toes today...are they webbed yet!
Rain, rain go away!!

Hi Christine, congratulations to you all on Elliott's last day of treatment today. I thought I heard some screams of excitement when I woke up this morning. They seemed to be coming up from the south...hehehe. Bet you never thought this day would arrive. You have been on one heck of a journey and come so far.
Thanks for the crafty info too. Will hop over to see the video of the new tool - sounds fab.
Luckily my feet are OK...at the moment that is...

Morning Christine, Hooray !! Hooray !! Hooray !! Elliott's last day today,, whoop, whoop, I can see some serious 'celebrating' going on later.
Loving your piccies today, especially the one with Elliott connected up with wires etc, and still on his mobile phone haha, it really made me chuckle.
I have to have that tool, the video was amazing, and the tool must definitely be used with the foam, it seems to keep all the 'bits' contained. The worst part of die-cutting is all the bits having to be poked out and they always go everywhere, this tool combined with the foam sheet is a definite 'must have'.
Lots of love from Patricia xx

Congratulations to Elliott, what a brave young man he is. You'll all feel a HUGE sense of relief today.

As for that tool, having spent the whole of Sunday afternoon picking bits out of dies, just for one card, it's definitely something I need in my life!

Congrats on Elliott getting to the last treatment Christine, it's been a long road, but he has come out at the end!

Looked at the tool video and I want one! Spellbinders had the tool but not the foam.

The other place (Stamping and Scrapping) had both, but wanted to charge $42 to ship! No thank you!

Morning Christine. So glad that this gruelling period of treatment and journeys to the hospital are coming to an end. Well done Elliott for overcoming your fears on the treatment and yes, you certainly do deserve a celebration.
Christine, what rain??? Actually it's a beautiful sunny day here but it seems to start like that and after lunch it darkens and then goes really dark & then the rain.Re the squares...hope you keep going with that for a while. I knitted 6 over Christmas and one the other night (had family here for New Year) but lots of wool which I got especially so have enough for plenty more. Am busy getting loads of family/friends B/D cards done but will send a batch of squares as soon as I can find time. Love to you all. Gemma xx
