Now that's quite a few dies and projects - here's to the next 50 or more!
This month's Cardmaking and Papercraft Magazine features a couple of
projects of mine in the Q and A section.
One of the questions: Can you use die-cut shapes as stencils?
Answer: Most definitely!
I used Botanical Swirls - one of the expandable pattern dies to create a mask/stencil.
I placed it onto a white piece of card and spritzed with a mister.
Wait until it dries before you remove the stencil...I am always impatient at this point!
I then used this as a background to a simple card featuring
Carnation Creations. Some light inking on the petals with Distress Ink.
Now for something completely different... do you watch Sherlock?
If you do and caught the last episode there was a lengthy scene involving
a lift in a rather swanky office block.
Well, that was filmed at the office where I work in London, St Botolphs.
The reception...
and the lift area...
They actually did the filming last August - you can tell because it isn't raining!
The building is incredibly modern and a far cry from my other workplace....
I know which I prefer!
Have a lovely weekend dear friends.
Take care.

Hi Christine. Great news about you continuing with Friday Die Day, so many brilliant projects, and now so many more to come : )I saw your answers in CMPC yesterday, you do have to wait until it is dry before lifting the stencil don't you, I learnt the hard way! I know which building I would choose to work in too, the same one as you : ) Enjoy your weekend. Take care.
Morning Christine,
I love your card today, what a great idea. I have this large die and hadn't thought of doing this with it. I received my goodies from you yesterday and intend to spend the whole weekend playing. Thank you for my lovely free gift, you are such a generous lady. I love the new Sherlock,it's brilliantly written.
Happy Weekend.

Hi Christine.... love the card. I haven't thought to use my die cuts like this... I have so many unused Glamour mists stashed away that I now will unearth and start using them!! Thank you for the reminder. Your office building is indeed 'very swanky' but I adore your other workplace.
Have a lovely day.
Hugs

Morning Christine, beautiful recap on your Friday die days projects. Have to say I didn't like the look of the offices in Sherlock - too modern for me, can't believe you work there, shame they didn't cast you as an extra! lol. I hope you all have a lovely weekend. Emma x
Amazing achievement. What a claim to fame!!!
Thanks for visiting me too, I appreciate it and your opinion, xxx
Hi Christine, shame they did not put you in the show, or let you meet the stars!!! Love today's card, will use that technique today, as long as there is no washing up, hoovering, cleaning bathrooms, clothes washing, ironing, food shopping, cooking etc. You get the picture, normal day!! Have a good week-end. Love Valerie

Morning Christine, looking forward to more crafty inspirations from you this year. Have a good weekend - hope the shop isn't leaking again with all this rain we are having. x Janice x
Well done for getting all those die days done so far in advance! Love the pics too. How is the damp in the shop these days?
Hello Christine. I have missed some of the previous FDD so it's great to see what you have done. So much inspiration. I did so enjoy the new Sherlock and wish there were more. What a smart place to work, but like you I'd prefer to be in the other place.xxMargaretxx
hi Christine.
Glad to hear you will continue with Friday Die Day. Didn't have time to post yesterday. But my. didn't you get to do a lovely lot of cards. Don't watch Sherlock, but I also know which building I'd prefer to work in as well.
Hello Christine, Well I for one would never have thought the dies can be used as stencils, I will look at them for the potential as your card is lovely.
Very good photography showing both work places, and i like the idea of working in one and creating in the other as your shop window looks so inviting and friendly. Have a great weekend.

nice card you made with this stencil .I think I would choose the nice homely studio ,while I like modern I think sometimes its a little clinical .Laura O
Afternoon Christine yes i did spot you and your cards in the magazine. Hope you have a great weekend xx hazel
Hi Christine,
Lovely card,and another super idea.
Like you I know which building I prefer.
I am really surprised you have done nearly 50 FDD,but looking forward to many more,I hope you have a good weekend. Take care. x.
Wow, 50 tags all in one pic makes a beautiful montage. Love the spritzed background idea for the card. I've been entranced by the Sherlock series. Very clever script. Dominic Cumberbatch has the most 'spellbinding' eyes. Your office building is amazing. I wonder how the producers came to choose it as a backdrop for filming? I'd be more creatively inclined to work in your studio though. Have a great weekend.
Sue

love Sherlock..they film quite a bit in Bristol and the glass house at the end of the last episode is not far from where I live, :)
Lovely card today and another great idea for making best use of the dies. Nice to see Ellott featured on the sidebar! Anne x
Great make ! Your shop window is better than the modern office x
What a great technique this is Christine, and a lovely card!
I don't watch Sherlock, but have to say your office looks very 21st century! Much prefer your studio though 😊
