Getting Inky with Thank you

Hello friends

How is your weekend going?
I'm heading to London today for a day out with some friends,
we are doing a little tour of Buckingham Palace
and an afternoon tea (absolutely no crafting at all!)

But talking of crafting...
I'm generally a clean crafter but for a change with this card project
I got a little inky.

Using watercolour card I created the background with Distress Oxides.
(Dabbing the inks onto a mat, spritzing with water and dragging the card through).
Once dry, I foiled over Thank You Hot Foil Plate in silver.

Really simple and then matting with silver foil card and some patterned paper
from my scrap box (that incidentally, is not getting any smaller!)

I think it looks effective and the boys commented on this one
so I think that's a plus!

Right I had better catch that train.
Take care friends, enjoy your Sunday.

Friday Die Day

Hello friends

Friday Die Day!
This week I'm featuring Charming Round Tag.
This is one of the Charming Christmas Collection die sets
designed by Becca Feeken.
It's a 9 piece die set that includes 4 interchangeable insert pieces and an
insert cutting rim to create many designs to the tag shape.
Also two charms and an ornament topper to complete the set.

The approximate measurements are:

Ornament Topper: 0.60 x 0.90 in 1.50 x 2.30 cm
Mitten Charm: 1.00 x 1.70 in 2.50 x 4.30 cm
Reindeer Charm: 1.65 x 2.30 in 4.20 x 5.80 cm
Decorative and Word Inserts (4 pcs): 2.30 x 1.00 in 5.80 x 2.50 cm
Insert Cutting Rim: 2.30 x 1.00 in 5.80 x 2.50 cm
Ornament: 2.65 x 3.00 in 6.70 x 7.60 cm

I've chosen to use Noel and the ornate insert inside the ornament,
also the ornament topper and reindeer.
Cut from a mix of ivory and gold mirror card.

For my card base I used a square of the Anna Griffin paper,
available in this pack here.
Next die cut a circle from the middle, pop this to one side.

I then used Classic Circles SM and LG to create a very narrow circle
from gold mirror card.

Place the die cut circle back into the aperture (the paper is double sided
and this is the pattern on the reverse).
Affix the narrow circle as a frame.

With the die cut ornament, place the gold behind to create a drop shadow
and fix the ornament topper in place.

I inked up multiple mini poinsettias.
Barn Door and Forest Moss Distress Inks.

Tied a piece of gold string around the ornament and placed onto the card front
with 3D Foam Squares.

Positioned and affixed the mini poinsettias in place,
added the reindeer and gemstones to finish.

It's a sort of Summer/Christmas card!

Summer Gift Card Wallet

Hello friends

Today's crafty project appeared on the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L
blog and along with all the super adhesives it features Swirl Booklet Insert.
This is the die set that creates a holder for gift cards or photos.
I chose to use ivory card and some Anna Griffin paper.

My little flowers make another appearance.
It's all safely held together with yellow twine (not a colour I use often!)

There's a full step by step tutorial over on the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L
blog here if you have time to visit and, as always, if you can leave a comment over
there, it means I get some brownie points! :)

(Please claim your prize within a month of announcement).

Yesterday I dabbled with the latest Hope and Charm-ing Collection
Afternoon Tea and made a handbag charm.
So easy to make with the Additions that are available on the
website, options to make handbag clips or keyrings.
It took me back to the years when I ran a bead jewellery business
and realised I can still wield a pair of pliers!

With each charm bag containing on average 30 charms
that's 6 projects per bag! Look out my family and friends...
guess what's going to be in your stocking this year!
You can view all the Charm-ing items on the website here.

Also...
welcome to all the new members of our new Facebook group,
It's so lovely to see all your projects, don't forget you can
share tips, techniques and videos too,
or just come along for a chat.

Take care friends.

Cinch and Go Poinsettia and let's group!

Hello friends

How is your week going?
I'm enjoying this bonus sunshine and definitely liking the cooler nights.

Sunday's YouTube video featured Cinch and Go Poinsettia,
one of the Charming Christmas Collection dies arriving soon.
I truly enjoying making flowers and this one, much like
previous Cinch and Go die sets, is a joy to work with.
I chose to use watercolour card and distress inks,
it brought out all the embossed detail.
I've used stamens for the centre.  I've received a few questions about
those so thought it best to pop that info in the video.

Here's my little video, remember if you comment and subscribe
to our YouTube channel we pick out a name to send the project to.

More photos!

Cinch and Go Poinsettia is available to order on the website here.
is arriving soon, I'm tracking it all the way over the pond.

Are you on Facebook?
If so, there's a new Hope and Chances Gallery,
it's a group page and totally for fun.
A chance for you to share your projects with anything
you've purchased from Hope & Chances,
so that's Spellbinders dies, Tina Ashton Art Stencils,
Charm Kits, Charity Kits etc.
I would love you to join in, we are sharing our makes,
tips, techniques and having a natter.
Click here to request to join the group,
I look forward to seeing you there :)

Take care friends, have a smashing Tuesday.
